Sorry for bump this thread, but i have to.

I want to unlock my bootloader to revert back into KK and then try to do a clean installation of LP. Reading this guide and watching the videos, and also looking into the img downloaded from nvidia, it says i have to install the fastboot drivers. The problem is that i have already installed fastboot and adb drivers since i have some other devices as a Xperia and stuff. For me, there is no Yellow sign as shown in the video, my device is recognized as Portable Device and it already says "Shield Tablet" MTP.

I've tried going into bootloader to see if it prompts any new devices but i got nothing. adb devices show my device, but i'm not sure if i need more.
When your device is in fastboot mode, and you run the command "fastboot devices" does the computer show you it see's your device? Also you every manufacturer has it's own devices drivers, regardless of what other devices you may own you will still need to install the ADB and Fastboot drivers provided by Nvidia for your shield tablet in order for the computer to properly recognize your device.

I'm having an issue unlocking the bootloader. I have the drivers and fastboot install successfully as well as adb and fastboot. I run the command "adb reboot bootloader" which reboots my shield into bootloader but when I run "fastboot devices" nothing shows up. USB debugging is enabled.

When the device is booted normally the command "adb devices" picks up the device. It is only in fastboot that adb commands aren't recognized.

I added a picture, any thoughts?

Edit: followed the instructions in the following video and all is dandy now.(don't have enough posts to post the link, had to edit it out)
Don't know how long ago this post was or if it was already answered, but from my experience when the tablet is in bootloader the computer sees it as a different device so make sure the drivers are being used properly. Control panel > Device manager > Other devices > Fastboot and make sure that's using the proper driver you want it to if it's got a exclamation mark next to it.

Edit: fixed. I needed to be in fastboot mode. Then access the Driver manager in Windows and install the new drivers.

Hi ! I hope I will get an answer.

I try to unlock the bootloader but I am stuck.

First of all, I can't install the new drivers. It says that it already has the newest drivers but the date on properties is 2006 ... I am on Windows 10 and I tried the method for Windows 8 but it didn't work.

Next, I can used CMD to reboot the tablet but it doesn't go on fastboot mode, I only have access to a menu (reboot - fastboot mode - recovery - turn off). When I hit "fastboot mode", it just reboots the tablet and I have the menu once again. So when I do "fastboot devices", my computer doesn't find any.

I am guessing that I can't do a proper unlocking as long as my drivers are not up to date but I don't know what to do, I am stuck at this step.

I hope to get an answer ! Thank you in advance !

Device is "Roth Diagnostics"

So, I can't unlock the bootloader for one simple reason..

My Shield's model is Roth Diagnostics.

It's in Diagnostics mode/rom.

So, it's stripped of google play services, and has an input tester and a mfg tester.

Still functions like a Shield, still has TegraZone, etc.

So, I did USB Debugging, but it's Roth Diagnostics in device manager, not Shield. This prevents me from installing shield drivers for it to unlock the bootloader and flash a custon recovery to get back to stock.
When in bootloader, it shows as fastboot in device manager.

ADB in Cmd Prompt doesn't send signals to the device.

I've been able to root with towelroot and install flashify, but i can't find a recovery for it so i can flash back to stock since it's still on 4.2.1 as well (Aug 27, 2013)
