Fair comment. But in the quoted review (4 months ago) there is simply the observation that multi-window would be better with v7, not that the YB will get it. I still think lenny will float varaints of the YB to see which catches on best. See, for instance, that the recent 12" version doesn't have the bracelet hinge, which has allowed them lower the price.

Incidentally, if you decide to check out the cost of replacement stock, would you let us know the outcome here?

Android nougat supports multiwindow out of the box. Hope they'll drop theire own.

Hope someone can help me with the fastboot mode....
I am using Win10 and have already reach the step of typing "fastboot flashing unlock". Instead of something poping up on the yogabook's screen so I get to choose, there is nothing except that a list of help (equivalent to type "fastboot help"). I help the adb driver works as the yb is showed as "Android Bootlaoder Interface" already. I can use "fastboot reboot" to reboot the device, but I simply cannot use the unlock command to unlock it , it feels like it is not the correct option to write "flashing unclock". Indeed there is no "flashing XXXX" in the help mene, but only get "flash XXX". I tried to re-install the ADB and driver through the 15 seconds installer.exe(1.4.3 and 1.3.0). But the problem remain unsolved.
Can anyone confirm that once you have the "USB Debuging"&"OEM Unlock" clicked in the system and ADB &Driver installed(of course , the yb get correcttly reconigized by the Win10) then you just need to reboot to Bootloader and type flashing unlock and it will work? I am stucked at the last step...so sad.

I hope this is useful information. It took me a bit to figure it out due to a lot of conflicting information, since the procedure has changed, perhaps several times, since the first version of Android. Also, I'll probably forget myself.

Please note that I've performed these steps on Linux (Specifically Arch Linux). Others have pointed out that if you have issues executing step 7 from Windows, you may need to follow this post.

1. Install Android Studio, or otherwise obtain the latest versions of the adb and fastboot programs. I think Windows users also need to install a USB driver, but I run Linux, so I am not sure about that procedure.
2. Gain access to the developer options on the tablet. Go to the settings, and find the "about tablet" section. Scroll down to the "Software version" section and tap on that several times until it says that you are now a developer. Feel special.
3. Go to the new "Developer options" setting. Select "OEM unlocking." Also, I selected "USB debugging" as a straightforward way to reboot into the boot loader.
4. Connect to the computer on which you've installed adb and fastboot.
5. Type 'adb devices' to see your device listed. The tablet will ask you if you're sure you want to allow the computer access to it. Answer in the affirmative, and save that option.
6. Type 'adb reboot-bootloader' to do just that.
7. After you see the innards of your 'droid, type 'fastboot flashing unlock' . On Linux, you may need root permissions to do this. The tablet will ask you to confirm (select with up/down volume, and accept with the power button), and will then erase all of your data! I didn't worry about this as I'm all on Google services, and so they can be restored easily enough.

fastboot flashing unlock...... it gives me feeling that it is not a vaild command on yogabook....
It worked for me. I followed the instructions to the letter. Windows 10. I'm unlocked and rooted. Could you try this command: Fastboot oem device-info. It should show the status of your device.

hi,
I guess you have a old fastboot version. I had the same issue, however after downloading an actual version unlocking worked.

I just recently got a Lenovo yoga book and love it so for me root access on a WiFi only device is a waste of time so will not do it.......

I am trying to unlock the bootloader. But fastboot says "remote: Unlocking device not allowed"
Is anything changed since the latest firmware or do I need a different fastboot version or driver?

EDIT: forgot to enable OEM unlocking

Confirmed this works using a Mac with android studio installed. No further drivers need to be installed but the manual fast boot method needs to be followed.
