FH are just a joke! Overpriced for not a lot of work involved! If they can justify the $100 price tag of what exactly is involved in obtaining a bootloader unlock code and how exactly is costs $100...then they may be able to put some method to their madness. Until then, I still insist that they're milking the situation and it's absurd!

Me @Jan, 15th:
Hi guys!
I bought/requested a bootloader unlock code on January, 8th using this email address. As others got their codes within a few hours I wanted to ask if anything maybe went wrong - did you receive my payment, is everything ok with the email adress, etc?
Sorry for being so impatient, but I really would like to unlock and root my device to get rid of all those "nice apps" coming preinstalled.
Thanks a lot mates and have a nice evening!

Best regards,
__________
FH @Jan, 17th:
Hello, we received it no problem. The wait time is currently longer than usual. I expect 3 to 5 more days.
__________
Me @Jan, 24th:
Hi mate!
It's been 7 more days until now already and those 14 days I had to expect are also 16 meanwhile. I really don't want to be impatient but I really would like to unlock it now.
What are things like now, when will the code be available?
__________
FH @Jan, 24th:
Hi,
The wait could be extremely long yet. We can cancel and refund your order if you like.

I now cancelled the order and requested a refund as I don´t see any sense in waiting any longer - especially as the price runs higher and higher. I´m really sorry and hope I don´t judge him/her/them/who ever faulty, but at the moment it seems to me they want to generate more money - maybe those 55 bucks were too little ...?

Hi, I have .153 (no OEM option) In France
I found the rom .171 (I would like to activate OEM Option):

ZIP
https://androidhost.ru/1iLI?pt=VWxN...0UWpka1FUMDlPbVJDQmF4UHVOeXhWSEZqNkEydFpZVT0=

DLOAD
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BbNsOiLOr3O81qfjRuqXGXphog1CEDuL/view
password: phoenixteam.tech

How to install it PLEASE ?
Because i dont want to pay 18$ to FH
Thx
It should be possible if the firmware zip files have an SD package tag on them.. If this is the case then simply create a "dload" folder on usb thumb drive or nano memory card and place the firmware update_base zip along with the cust/preload zips in that folder.

Then you simply reboot to recovery/download mode by VOL Up + VOL Down + Power keys and crossing fingers it will update.

FH refunded my order today, even though I didn't specifically ask them too. They offered in their last email, but I didn't take them up on it.
Obviously, they have zero intention of actually fulfilling ANY orders that aren't done at the $99 price point.

Those who ordered from FH at 55$ or 66$ and are uncomfortable with a potentially long wait time, just email to cancel the order.

New orders at 99$ price point are put through a different infrastructure which is considerably more expensive, which FH switched to for reliability, which is why the price has gone up, and why we can't put old orders through the new infrastructure.

Eventually, bootloader code prices are likely to continue to rise as it becomes harder and harder to get them. They may also become impossible to get, at all. If someone needs a code, it's better to order soon, because it may not be available, at all, in the future. For bootloader unlock codes, the wait time isn't due to FH, it's due to issues in infrastructure outside of FH's control.

We feel confident that the codes can eventually be issued to those who ordered at $55 or $66 price points, but we do not know how long the wait will be. So if you are uncomfortable with waiting without knowing how long the wait will be, FH can only apologize for the unexpected wait time, refund the payment, and cancel your orders.

Sounds like you're just giving people an excuse to cancel the order at $55 and put through another one at $99. You're scamming people! Moderators need to do something about this because this is bull!

This is more than just bull... That's a crime! Like any Cartel or Monopoly attempt, it's a crime! Announce and sell a product with a predetermined price and delivery time, and then obstruct the delivery process forcing the customer to undo the order and then redo the entire procedure for a greater value if the customer still wanted the product in question, it's a crime! This is never was a fault of the XDA. But it's now a juridic case! And it should be reported with such. Reported to PayPal and to competent authorities that regulate this type of procedure and virtual commerce. XDA has always given us all the support and tools for the Android enthusiast! If it is to have a sealed and obtuse device with an arbitrary and intrusive masquerade as Huawei has become, it is far better for me to get an iPhone after all. We are Android users for a simple reason. Freedom!
I always divulged and praised XDA to all my friends! Here I managed to keep my S4 running smooth for more than 5 years always customizing and amusing with the posts of friends and experts from the community. But now what I see is a group of opportunists and malicious people taking advantage of the moment and shame their own paths. But stay tuned. Because this kind of procedure may seem safe and flawless to the person who executes them. But only until the moment when someone with real legal knowledge takes the appropriate measures against people who commit this type of crime! People who form monopolies and cartels! This was my first and last Huawei. I wanted to know this brand and its hardware and I ended up entering a siege worse than Apple's. Funkyhuawei they say... Better F...cking.you.huawei, I guess.

Since you are a junior member and XDA stopped being anything like what you are describing more than 2 years ago I'm not sure what to make of your post or even if it's legitimate and not another of the many fake posts associated with a rival company that XDA actively shills for.

The last time XDA was free, honest and developer friendly was in the Nexus 6P and OP3 days. By the time the Pixel XL and OP5 came out XDA was actively hiding negative information about both phones from its members, Google had become anti-development and created safety net to block specific apps from working on modded phones, the developer of SuperSU threw in the towel because he saw no future for Android custom ROM development, paid tools, services and apps started turning up throughout XDA which also started regularly publishing articles that were sponsored by specific companies.

If you knew anything about Android phones then you should have known before buying the M20P (assuming that you actually own one which is unlikely ) that Huawei stopped providing bootloader unlock codes over a year ago and that if you wanted a phone with an easy to unlock bootloader buying the M20P made no sense.

Why would anybody spend $800 or more on a phone by a company that doesn't want you to unlock the bootloader and then complain about trouble unlocking the bootloader?

Your post would have been plausible a year ago but it isn't now.

I agree with everything you said.
But maybe 'cause english is not my mother language, I haven't made myself clear enough.

Yes, I miss the good old days of XDA. As I said, here in the community I customized and fixed my Galaxy S4 several times. But I never registered in the forum. I just followed the posts and gathered information. You can call me a vampire if you want. : ) But I'm not a fake or even associated with anything.

Like you, I also miss the "free, honest and developer friendly" days of XDA. And I also never done anything that could vilify the community.
I continue to follow the news here. And at this time, seeing all the controversy involved around this subject, I login and exposed my opinion about it. Making it clear that I am also saddened by this new overbearing Android doctrine and that I also miss the golden age and freedom here at the XDA.

About my device, I don't have a Mate 20 much less a Mate 20 Pro.
I got a Nova 3 because I found one in a pretty good sale and I also wanted to get know the Huawei hardware as I said in my post.
But since the Nova 3 forum is practically dead, I came here to leave my opinion on.

You are right my friend. In everything you said.
It's really shameful and sad to see that the same people who brought this community to the world, are now only tainting their own legacy.
Be well my friend. And once again, sorry 'bout my English. ; )
