It might not, but I wouldn't take any chances. If something goes wrong, you'll be forced to reset either way.

Backup what you can.

Unless you're rooted, your options are pretty minimal with regard to app data etc

Try the side USB port on your phone?

Do you have a way of knowing when a device has been connected to your computer? Windows would normally play the USB connected sound. Can you confirm that your computer does detect your phone plugging in? If so, can you check your device manager to see what it's listed as?

If you check with 'fastboot devices' in cmd window or will say some numbers and letters after that cmd to say whether you are connected...

I can confirm that Windows recognizes my phone and plays the sound. It shows up in the device manager too. The problem is when I run the first .bat , my phone goes to EDL mode like normal. But the second bat doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

Try running the second file as soon as you run the first one. Keep spamming it if it closes out immediately. You need to basically start the unlocking process as soon as it enters EDL mode or else it won't work.

Almost all of us are stuck on step 1.update_image_EDL.bat . The CMD window just shows and closes fast, and phone doesnt enter fastboot mode. I installed all drivers. Can you post guide on how to do that step using QPST or Miflash tools?

Make sure the path to the folder where you have the bat files doesn't have any spaces. Keep the extracted folder in C:/ or D:/ root and try again.

Thanks to Dennis96411 I finally got my battery back to 100% and fully updated. Unfortunately my journey isn't over I then did the flash twrp.img from there I flashed twrp installer then magisk. I lost all sound and unable to watch videos. Also YouTube was uninstalled. Got YouTube back by removing vanced from magisk modules but still no video or sound

Ok ok ok. I figured it out. I redid the flashing while in twrp

1. flash rootboot.img (totally forgot to do this :laugh

2. Flash twrp installer

3. Flash magisk

Update: I lost YouTube weird right. So I installed from playstore, then I installed venced YouTube from magisk and guess what.....YOUTUBE DISAPPEARED! No venced no YouTube lol. Fun stuff but I figured out what caused it. I had magisk and was rooted and all my fav add-on where there. When I updated my phone I reinstalled twrp and magisk but because I never removed my add-ons they created a bug lol. So to correct this fun problem you need to remove all modules then flash all that stuff and blamo ugly advertising YouTube restored. Hope my conquest as a noob helps anyone in similar situation. :laugh:

Please help me. I have widevine security L3 instead of L1 (also at relock bootloader). Here is what happen to me:
1. Unlock the bootloader and get persist.img, but wrong size of package then i have lost the serial number (C4ATAS000000). The size of persist file is 16mb instead of 32mb by default.
2. Try to get another persist.img from another device, then use Ultra editor to find and change back to my real Serial Number. And it worked.
3. Figure out widevine security is always stay at L3, whenever bootloader is re-locked. Also Asus unlock bootloader apk from asus homepage is not working, it said "error network".
4. Do flash raw from all version, also factory reset...etc but no luck.
