How to update rom? cm endeavoru 12 > 12.1 ?

I got this version:
12-20150214-UNOFFICIAL-endeavoru
and want to udpate to this version:
cm-12.1-20160905-UNOFFICIAL-endeavoru

In the settings the cm update button just says 'no internet connection' when I'm perfectly online.

I tried flashing and wiping cache in wtrp, then it got stuck in boot. So I did a recovery and am back to the 20150214-version.

I know I'm kinda late,but did you flash the boot.img from the newer version after installing it? You need pc for this.
PS: Just use SlimLP,its faster than all CM based roms for the one x.

However there is a boot.img in the download-it is in the rom .zip file . Just extract it from there and flash it from fastboot. If I remember correctly, once you are in fastboot type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then reboot and the rom will work fine.
