I got the stock NC5 bootloader file made. I'll test it out later & upload.
If I wanted to later, could I flash this right over NC5 Engineering boot?Sorry for the delay. Here is the stock NC5 bootloader-only file.

The bottom of the 1st post has also been updated with new notations and instructions.
Use my modified Odin v3.09 & the BL button. Don't do a hot-boot into Download Mode. Instead, shut off the phone completely and then reboot into Download Mode from a cold state (so the bootloader flash will stick).
Yes.If I wanted to later, could I flash this right over NC5 Engineering boot?

Since you're already on NAB with Root, you don't need to start from the beginning. You'd start from the 2nd step (NAB to NC5).I feel like this isn't a smart question and I've been looking for a while, so if I missed it somewhere I apologize. I'm already rooted. Software version ending in NAB, Android version 4.4.2, Baseband version ending in NAB, Build version ending in NAB. So should I use your NC5 files and follow the flashing instructions just underneath the NC5 files on top of everything I already have? Even though I'm already rooted? Or do I start from scratch as if I'm not rooted?
Thanks in advance. Basically I just don't want to take a chance on bricking the thing.
AFAIK, have experienced, and could tell, there is no benefit for running the engineering bootloader (someone correct me if I got this wrong). It didn't allow me to downgrade to Jellybean, still contains the Knox security bit tracker, and just shows extra lines during bootup. Many thanks to optimummind. Again.
I was on NAB (having flashed using the original instructions on the OP) and just successfully updated to NC5. I did everything but the bootloader so I'm still on the NAB engineering. Is there any disadvantage to flashing the stock NC5 bootloader? I'm rooted, Knox 0X0 and trying to remember why I stayed on the the NAB engineering bootloader. I feel like there was a concession or risk and want to know if that is the case with stock NC5.
If your baseband is already at NC5, then you don't need to flash again separately.Used this method to root and not trip Knox and it's great. Keep up the good work. My baseband was at NC5 when I flashed with MOP. I'm I ok or do I still need to flash baseband/modem?

So, download Mobile Odin Pro (now on v4.20). Move NC5 tar file to internal storage and flash with MOP. Then flash NC5 modem, NC5 csc, and NC5 bootloader (optional).
If your Knox is already tripped (0x1), you can just flash NC5 tar via desktop Odin and re-root with CF-Autoroot.

I noticed this too; I was at NC5 baseband after flashing the NC5 tar file. I flashed the baseband separately anyway as noted in the steps and all is well. Very easy procedure, thank you optimummind.Used this method to root and not trip Knox and it's great. Keep up the good work. My baseband was at NC5 when I flashed with MOP. Yea I also noticed better data speed in my area after the update. Did you use the NC5 tar from this OP or another?I noticed this too; I was at NC5 baseband after flashing the NC5 tar file. Another note to mention when flashing the NC5 bootloader, that I just did last night, is that the phone didn't reboot as I didn't check the auto-reboot in Odin. I was a bit nervous but just waited a few minutes and then powered off my phone. It was unnerving since the screen says in large letters not to turn off phone but my phone is fine and I'm on NC5 for everything.
Everything I flashed was from the OP of this thread.Yea I also noticed better data speed in my area after the update. Did you use the NC5 tar from this OP or another?

I used the tar from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522638Everything I flashed was from the OP of this thread.
Since you're already Knox tripped, you can flash the NAB tar via desktop Odin. It'll upgrade everything to NAB. Then flash CF-Autoroot for root then flash custom recovery of your choice.I am sorry if I am asking something that has already been answered but I searched the thread and I could not find it. I have already rooted my Sprint Galaxy Note 3 3.it was soft bricked when I tried to flash the wifi tether mod. I decided to flash a custom ROM called KitKatKiller and it required me to Odin back to MJ4 then Odin to NAB. Then when I tried odin to NAB the phone just stayed stuck on the splash screen. Do I have to Odin the NAB bootloader before I Odin NAB system? basically I am just trying 2 figure out how to flash the Stock NAB rom when I am on MJ4. The OP says he was on MJ4 and his knox counter was 0x0. Mine is 0x1. Can I still use this method? All I am trying to do is get on NAB from MJ4 so I can flash KitKatKiller.
Will I need to flash the bootloader first?Since you're already Knox tripped, you can flash the NAB tar via desktop Odin. It'll upgrade everything to NAB. Then flash CF-Autoroot for root then flash custom recovery of your choice.
