How to update Xperia Z without letting PC Companion using Internet

My internet is now my phone's hotspot, I depend on it to surf the net. Now that I've downloaded a new software update, I forgot that the PC Companion still requires internet to continue installing the update. Because the needs to shut down during the update progress, I won't have internet access. Thus, updating my Xperia Z is not possible. Is it possible to make PC Companion not use internet while updating my device?
