While rooted? Negative.

If you're planning to take it back for them to look at, then you should use the full restore no root tar. It will set everything back to official.

I haven't installed any roms or anything other than root. Just curious, would there be a difference between the full restore no root tar vs doing this:

It's the same thing. That will definitely set you back to day one.

Try that, test camera. If camera works without issue, then come back to this, try root again and test camera.

If, for whatever reason, it does break the camera, logs will be needed to try to find the issue.

Ok, there again, root didn't break the camera function. Just because you use the unroot feature of SU, it will not put your phone status back to official status if they check.

I was trying to tell you how to set your device back to stock if you were going to have Sprint look at it and at the same time either confirm that the method broke something or get you set straight.

Sorry if that was confusing, wasn't meant to be.

Got it. I'll try the official method. Would that also hide the Developer Options? Thanks

Developer options won't be enabled upon first boot but that's not something that they could ding you on anyway. That's a built in function with stock. But yes, it'll be off by default.

This is certainly the easiest rooting process I've ever done. But for some reason, my device is not getting rooted. Superuser was installed and so I thought my phone rooted. but according to rootchecker, it isn't.

There was a Sprint OTA update that came out. However it breaks root, does anyone know of a fix for this yet? I tried to re-root but it says it failed.
You'll need to grab a source built MDL kernel that has the proper edits. You can find such a kernel from @shabbypenguin in the following thread: OTA - Official MDL update zip. You'll also find in that thread on how to apply root.

You could also try @agat63's source built kernel.. [UPDATE][KERNEL][SOURCE] AGAT_GS4_v0.1.2 05/09/13

I haven't flashed any roms, but I'm getting the yellow triangle. After doing the unrooting, would I need to run Triangle Away?

Seems like we're going in circles. So without bloating QBKings thread anymore, just follow the link below and check out the video.

Even though Chainfire's T.A. thread doesn't show support for the i9505 variant, version 2.90 does work. So, yes, use it..

Then, follow this link and watch this video.

did anyone get an alert for an update yet and installed it?
I got the update alert this morning, but I haven't installed it yet as I assume it will break root. Curious if anyone has tried re-rooting successfully using the same method after the update or is a new method going to need to be determined?

Edit: Found the answers:

You will have to reflash CWM in Odin, then reboot to recovery and flash Shabby's custom kernel(with root blocking removed), then flash SuperSU+ 1.25 zip. This will regain root. Motochopper no longer works with the new update.

I got the OTA update yesterday which I applied, but it failed with an "error" message. I am still rooted. Did your update apply successfully?
