Here is a complete step-by-step video guide of a very straightforward method that works flawlessly for rooting the Galaxy S21 (or any other Exynos-based S21 such as the S21+ & S21 Ultra) and installing Magisk onto it.

It only works on Exynos-powered S21 devices (S21 - S21+ - S21 Ultra including all 5G versions), please do not try it on Snapdragon versions.

I would say that the biggest disadvantage is that it voids your warranty. Other than that, it's only +++

It is recommended to wipe it by using the standard CSC file; maybe it will work with HOME_CSC, that will not wipe the device and it might cause some issues.

Agree except in Europe, it cannot void the warranty. Tripping Knoxx is my first proud duty on each Samsung device
Re HOME_CSC I might quote topnjohnwu classic guide:
"Use HOME_CSC to preserve your data when doing a firmware upgrade in the future. Using CSC is only necessary for the initial Magisk installation."

For some reason, the bootloader cannot be unlocked in download mode
I think Samsung is the reason
I am on the release BXXU2AUC8
Note, it was booted in reCrecovery mode and then restarted in download mode, but unfortunately, the option to open the bootloader does not appear

install xposed plugin Firefds and turn on. Turn on the recording in the official app.

If you google for “magisk & paypal” there are loot of posts where people are unable to use banking apps and are looking for help (and that John Wu is working for google for some time now). On the other hand, there are people who say that everything works and “knoxx is scaremongering”, even if the author of this guide has said here "it will permanently trigger Knox”. And I can say as someone who unlocked a few bootloader in the past: there was always something that didn’t work after root.

Gun to my head: i guess so Why would Paypal not work? You must be digging some old information from archives. It's so 2018. PayPal works nonstop, on tons of rooted models, without interruption, for years. Knoxx is so 2015, let's make a funeral for it already. I flashed 5 unique samsungs models last month, i dont share any of your concerns, because all i see is rooted devices work perfectly fine.

You shouldn't be looking for reasons not to root. People recycle the texts as this information didn't change for years. In general: you lose OTA on all brands except OnePlus/Google, and on Samsung you lose "cry me a river" SPay, Secure Folder, S Flow (until you tell Magisk to hide). Some 3rd party stupid (banking?) apps will try to detect root, and you the user will prevent that or troubleshoot individually, by searching on xda. Or stop using it. Sure i don't know have the full list of such ****ty banks, as my bank officially supports root (we the users pointed guns to their heads), but some weird bank can't stop me from rooting. But it's off topic anyways as this is problem (i'd say bug) in specific apps, not in "rooting" or "samsung" or "google" or "johnwu". Don't overthink. Just root

i knew it could trigger your feelings, but like i say, it works. Power user means you root and than fix situations. That's what i favor over moaning about 2015 knoxx, 2018 paypal, 2020 magiskhide, 2021 topjohnwu in google. At this moment, once again, samsung after samsung, everything works with no divergence. In my case without any effort, so i try to simulate it as im writing this post, grabbed some antiroot ****ty 3rd party app called HDFC Bank -> fixed by hiding it, and hiding Magisk. 3 minutes. This old method still works. If Hide won't work, Xposed will help. If Magisk won't work (lol), we still figure out. I'm far from negative.

if it's the 3rd party apps who don't want people to become power users in the name of false security, let them know. It was indeed very classy of me to call out my ****ty bank when they tried to disallow VPN and then root. Now they have confirmation box to confirm root thanks to us power users. That's cool. 3 minutes saved per user! #GunToAntirootHeads

Anyone on One Ui 4.0 successfully rooted with Magisk Canary, and able to hide root for banking and such apps (Magisk DenyList) and pass SafetyNet (with SafetyNet fix and magiskhide props config) ?

Yes, managed to update to one ui 4.0 and root with Magisk 24.1, also hide root from my banking apps.
