Howcome dev support seems to be popular for the i9500?

So is it me, or does preliminary support seem to be focused more on the i9500 than the i9505 variant so far? It's pretty weird seeing as everyone seemed to be sure that the Octa wouldn't enjoy as much support from the dev community as the S600 would.

I see a lot of ROM / root / flashing / kernel / firmware threads for the Octa already :D

Is the i9500 already out in some countries?

I know we have a lot of Devs in the US and not sure how many people have got their hands on i9505 as of yet? Plus no carrier kernel sources yet?

I'm getting my i9500 next weekend :good: (South Africa)

It's not officially out anywhere yet, but if you just glance in 'Android Development' you'll see a lot of i9500 development threads already.

The l9505 will have huge support being the main US, UK and others phone. Don't worry.

Don't the US carriers get their own individual devices (with the SGH and SCH names)?
It's the same device as far as I've seen just carrier branding is the diference. Same hardware so should both run the same roms.

I wasn't worried, I'm glad to see support already happening for the i9500 ;)

My mobile service provider just called me an hour ago to verify my work address. They want to courier my i9500 to me on Friday morning :D

(Vodacom, South Africa, if anyone's interested)

IMO the initial "WHAT we can't get i9500 Octa in my country!" is replaced with a shift toward i9505.
Anyway some Danish shop i9505 is released tomorrow and i'm going to get one :good:
