Hey mate, well no gsm is normally caused by the wrong baseband, so flashing back to the old one should fix the problem, try to re-flash the stock froyo given in the link on first post and see if that works, and if still no coverage then its a hardware problem and Lg should replace it for you, just dont forget to flash back to stock again if you rooted it, then they should fix it within the warranty.
well, I also think that its a hardware problem now. cause I tried everything, flashing back to old stock froyo, upgrading to stock gingerbread, cm7, baseband patch, but none works. I think that it needs to see LG care now. is anything else u want to advice me? any else trick or somethin?

Well i dont think you wud have changed sim cards wen u upgraded as some phones are locked to particular networks, so ye most likely its a hardware problem, but if your within warranty, dont worry just flash the original firmware, then hand it back in and say one that you just woke up in the morning and tried everything to make it work even factory reset on the phone and nothing works, they should replace it for you =)

It doesnt matter which firmware you flash as long as its Gingerbread, different countries vary different apps they give with their firmware, which wont matter when you flash a new ROM anyway.
V20 updates all have new firmware as far as I am aware

that particular one is european i think, different countries tend to have different Letters after v20. It doesnt matter as all you need is the baseband updated, which is THE SAME in all countries

Damn got bootloop :|

Flashed via kzd 3 time still same :|
Try holding volume down and home button, as if your trying to access the recovery.

I had a custom bootloader at the start and then the default turned on after i did the above, and then loaded into the flashed stock lg firmware

i updated my firmware to 2.3.3 and now my phone is stuck on the android logo...what should i do?
Yep as i mentioned on the first post, if that happens and it normally does if you flash from say cyanogenmod or other custom roms not based on Lg framework, as kdz installs the system folder, leaving the userdata untouched ( it also wipes recovery). This would also happen if say you try to flash a Rom based on LG zip file, over a cyanogenmod, using recovery.

All you do to fix it, is when you boot it up, hold down volume down and menu button, and your phone will reset to system defaults (Lg doesnt have a recovery, just wipe user data function) and all other stuff will get wiped that wasnt part of the LG update. Your phone should boot now.

Looks like you deleted the launcher too. Press the search key after unlocking and check if the Google search is opening. If it is opening, just Google some launcher name like (go launcher apk). Download and install. Good luck:)

Pressing search key doesnt work, as that has something to do with the launcher (I had the same problem with my girlfriends phone). The best thing to do is reflash A ROm if your friend installed custom Recovery, but if he hasnt use KDZ to reflash the stock ROM.
This is the only way, if your friend did not install a custom recovery, and there is no way to install one now without a launcher =(.

This thread has everything you need to use kdz and root afterwards, so use it. And in the future tell your friend to not delete lghome.apk, and if he does make sure he has another launcher installed, and if he doesnt have a custom recovery, get one asap after he fixes his phone

I don't think that search key is associated with the launcher. It worked for me.

Who knows, maybe you are right ;)

Trying does not cost you nothing. So, keep on trying.:beer::thumbup:

Does this guide work for Optimus T (LG P509) ? I have got one recently and currently using stock 2.2 on it. I don't know the difference between LG p500 and LG P509. I'm coming from T-Mobile G1 on which I'm using CM 7.1. Thanks for guidance.

Simply put: Yes, it works. As long as you do it word for word. I can post pics of the end-result, if you wish. As for the proper ICS Rom; I found that the 4.0.4 by Kang worked perfectly. (AOKP) It's been my daily rom since the update. So far, I haven't had any issues with getting 3G or anything like that. As with all roms, you may find a glitch here or there, but it WORKS! :D
