i revert back to stock partition
then
Decided to flash miui through fastboot, it stops in the middle of it saying Unidentidied error target size is to large. :(
please help me, thank you!
Whatever you do don't wipe the sd card. I had the very same problem 2 weeks ago. If you have a back up on SD card wipe all except SD and restore your backup. If you have already wiped the SD card but still have cwm or twrp
download a rom of your choice and sideload it through cwm or twrp. If you have only mi recovery than your only option is fastboot.
In the previous page there is a post of mine with the link of fastboot guide.
Good luck.

You can do a factory reset or flash latest Miui ROM with MiFlash, as update.zip or from cwm or twrp.

Or search for the zip in this thread to return to stock partitions.

No still not possible in my case! But I can use both systems.
What you can try is to wipe everything than flash on both systems the same miui.zip. Afterwards try with MiFlash.

No way to solve.I am so sad about the problem. Now I use aosp by vian .the only problem is cant use miflash in case I cant boot and no zip in SD. That s terrible!

Where there is a will there is a way. It's not like they magically flash miui at the factory using pixie dust. This is another case of a beginner biting off more than they can chew. Start searching the internet and researching the answers. They are out there you just need to find them. You can't expect everything to be handed down on a silver plate all the time as this is not a paid job for anybody here and we all knew the risks of proceeding. This is going to be a long lesson in learning how your phone works and hence build your knowledge. Best of luck. If you are able to install miui and get it to boot you will have to restore their custom recovery for their ota updates not cwm or twrp as miui ota updates flash to both system partitions if I remember correctly.

This is an experience for you, your device must always have:
* a stable rom *.zip
* CWM recovery.zip
* and TWRP recovery.zip >>> to fix if CWM fails
All files are not on the big size but it is very useful if your device fails

One question, so if I resize partitions, then go back to stock partition sizes, will EVERYTHING be back the way it was, or will I be unable to flash MIUI or other ROMs due to target size too large error?
Cuz I don't wanna permanently lose TDB. If it can be implemented in TWRP, it'll be real awesome...(my friend used MultiROM on his Moto G for awhile and it was really cool, there was a boot menu with cool animations and stuff...)

DId you try flashing MIUI with extended partitioning or stock? And did you try flashing with CWM also?
(I really don't wanna resize if it's gonna cause problems later...)

With extended one buddy, using the official TWRP, with this new partition i have flashed almost all available Lollipop Roms , this is the first time i got this error that to with MIUI Rom.
.
Well Resizng is good if you ask me ,as i never use TDB ,so the second partition was anyhow not of any use for me ,and secondly now after this new partition one can flash any rom with full gapps no need to un install apps and clear space and all ,

But guess it has some negative aspects like the one am facing now ,but i guess it will surely have some way out :)

No, I was just asking if you've also tried with other configs to see if error exists.
And as for extending, yeah, it is undoubtedly good option now, but see my post on previous page. If extending now means I'll face such errors later (when TDB capable TWRP is released), I'd rather not.

If I extend my system partition, how to revert back to stock partition and miui rom (dont need dual boot).
As I read many users couldn't go back to miui after changing system partition.

Dedicated to ones who are wondering if after Re size will MIUI work or not

1) To users who are a bit confused whether after increassing the partition size whether you will be albe to install MIUI or not ,
so answer is yes you can ,no issues at all

2) somewhere asking if OTA will work or not
yes OTA works fine :)

I was on TWRP Recovery , and it was the recovery issue that miui was not flashing o but then switched back to Cwm and it flashed as expected Even started getting Beta updates so i assure Ota works .

Now switched back to TWRP just made a backup of MIUI :p
you can make a backup of it and place it in your Pc,lappy and when you feel like switching to Miui just restore it back :cowboy:

Thanks a lot. I'm gonna repartition now.
But will MIUI flash after REVERTING to stock layout? Some ppl reported errors, I believe...
Can anyone confirm?

You can revert to stock layout by redoing the procedure in OP using original values.
Or use the zip by @i snort flour on this thread. :p
