I
1st: You would have to flash just the rom, reboot and set up your phone.
2nd: Reboot phone into recovery and create a backup (I recommend using twrp2 as cwm has been known not to keep or create reliable backups)
3rd: Wipe your system, cache, data and dalvik (very important you scrub your phone clean just make sure you don't delete your sdcard storage or you will not only lose your all your stuff and backups but you will then have to either push a rom by adb or flash through fastboot and that sucks)
4th: Install repartition zip audahadi provided
5th: Reboot recovery
6th: Restore the backup created in step 2
7th: Install gapps, supersu and any other zip files you desire to flash if you have any
8th: Download diskinfo from play store and check to see that your system repartition was successful and that you have plenty of space left to use in your system partition. If it's claiming you have used almost or all of your 1.2gb this did not work and you can restore your partition back to stock if you choose to from a zip I made on the previous page.
9th: Come back here and tell us if it worked and thank audahadi for eliminating the pains and frustrations of having to use adb for us.
Edit: I personally can confirm this method works with the new zip format
Worked perfectly, with one exception/change compared to the (excellent) guide above: when flashing the repartition zip, I flashed it in TWRP first, it ran with no errors, but partition size didn't change. Tried the entire procedure again, but flashed the zip in CWM, and it worked perfectly. I think others made the same observation, but a good thing can always be repeated once more. :)

Not sure why but some people can flash with twrp some can't. Mine flashed just fine both expansion and return to stock perfectly in twrp I haven't needed cwm since twrp was released so it leads me to believe later xioami phones have been built with different or cheaper parts since the first ones they put out on the market. I got mine in mid to late September 2014 from a hong kong distributer with a warehouse in Taiwan off of eBay when it couldn't be found anywhere and it came with gorilla glass 3 instead of that cheap dragons tail they switched to. Don't surprise me though as this company is very shady. It sucks that I couldn't get it in silver but after seeing everybody else's issues I'm glad I didn't wait.

This only changes the partition if you are having problems flashing miui either your recovery isn't working properly or your miui rom you have downloaded is corrupted. Miui claims you have to download them with a computer and transfer them to your phone I was able to get it to download properly with Google chrome beta set to desktop page view on my phone however. This is another case of beginners biting off more than they can chew. Seriously people you shouldn't mess with system partitions and roms if you are not intermediate to advanced in knowledge or willing to take however long is needed to do the research to understand and fix any complications including bricking your device. I can not stress this enough and it will be my last response to these issues.

Follow the guide to back stock partitions using the correct size(see below) but doing it in bytes => "unit B" . My unmodified partitions are below. Have a look at system and system1. I think it solve the problem.

---------- Post added at 04:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 PM ----------

If you want to use miui use cwm as twrp also not worked for me and for stock partition and fastboot flashing wait for some time so anyone with megamind come up with a solution as I am just in flashing

"In HTCMania have created a zip to flash for recovery partitions leaving stock with the correct size."

Use it in CWM no TWRP. It's a modded zip from audahadi. I have changed only size to bytes like in stock partitions. Thanks
