You have to downgrade the whole rom, Ssu.apk nor the secret phone commands work on od2
downgrade the whole Rom from OD2 to NG2 will trigger the Knox? If OD2 can downgrade to NG2, I can domestic unlock and stay on NG2. Or, upgrade back to OD2 with Hybrid Modem.

You have to downgrade if you want to use SSU, yes. But downgrade is not necessary to achieve unlock on OD2
Why not necessary? Without downgrade the Whole Rom or downgrade the modem, what another method for domestic unlock?

I'd be interested in a method to unlock while on od2.. As I've not seen anyone post any info showing how to do it.. Aside from having sprint do the international unlock, but even then the secret code app won't load on od2 either..

I got it to work after flashing my Sprint S4 to the official Lollipop firmware and downgrading the modem as specified in the directions. Thank you for all of the hard work! I do have a question. If everything is working is there any benefit to upgrading the modem? I am going to be using CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly as my ROM.

Thanks to all here on XDA who work so hard!

Modem has to stay where it is if you want to stay unlocked

How I managed to use the latest stock rom to unlock

Modem has to stay where it is if you want to stay unlocked
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8jetc74j7mfgke/S4_Domestic_unlock.zip?dl=0 (Includes ROM, Modem, and Odin 3.10. Did not include the unlock utility)

Alright thank you for that information. Also, for anyone wanting to start using the stock Lollipop ROM from Sprint/Samsung (Which you can get here if you do not have it ---> http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares...) I have listed the steps to do this below.
1. Use Odin 3.10 to flash the stock Lollipop ROM to your S4. (Use AP slot and leave auto reboot and reset time on. If you run into any issues check your cable, try another USB port, and make sure Samsung Kies is not on your PC.)
2. Use the modem downgrade instructions from the OP (MDC modem file included in dropbox DL. Flash with Odin using CP slot.)
3. Boot into Lollipop and confirm that the last three letters on the baseband (in settings) read "MDC."
4. If #3 is confirmed continue the steps for international gsm unlock from OP -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...
5. Everything should be working now, if you have your US GSM SIM card inserted you should no longer see an invalid SIM message (If you do see that message something above did not succeed)
(Note for #6 -> After typing *#0011# in dialer and opening the menu it may take quite a few tries entering 1 and 2 to get anything to happen.)
6. Follow OP instructions but do not bother with the build.prop and instead simply enter APN settings for your provider (Found under Settings -> Connections -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names)
7. Restart your phone if you do not yet receive service from your provider. (You may also have to tap activate under Settings -> More -> Activate this device)

I would like to add that with the latest CyanogenMod nightly (12.1) I was unable to get the WCDMA only radio mode to stick. I eventually gave up and restored a TWRP backup of the stock ROM which works very well. I tested this method using a Cricket (AT&T) SIM card.

One more thing. If you are stuck with an auth FAIL in Odin after trying the original OP method with the MF9 ROM the above method and Lollipop ROM may solve your issue. I spent many hours to figure out that Odin does not like when you try to downgrade to a lower android version, and thus fails. It left my phone softbricked, which is how I came across this simpler method for unlocking the phone. (Phone was originally running stock 4.4.2 rooted)

Quite honestly, S4 (BOTH L720 & L720T), S5 (Yes the galaxy S 5!), Note 3, Note 4, Note Edge, S6 and 6 Edge from Sprint can be domestically unlocked....confirmed :D
