hm.. the SSU should only be the international unlock, not the domestic unlock. I'm doing another L720 on lollipop but this time i'm having issue with the invalid sim, no matter what i do it still says invalid sim.
I did the intentional unlock first, then I did the domestic with this tutorial.
If you keep having the same issues of invalid sim error try the app and see what happens, it work for me ?

I unlocked my SPH-L720 sprint for international GSM use using some other thread. I checked that it did recognize the GSM networks outside of the USA using an unactivated sim card. Anticipating future use in the USA. I followed the instructions for domestic unlocking. However at the end of the process, the phone seems set to CDMA and entering the service menu *#0011# shows a No service message on black screen. I cannot set to GSM mode (go back to international use) for my country ( There is no CDMA networks where I am)

Thanks

You can always set it back to GSM mode. Settings->More networks->Mobile Networks->Network mode

I f I recall, there was no option to set to GSM. I must have not done the resetting part properly. Anyway I reflashed my ROM back to OEM and unlocked it again internationally. So that's good that I managed to do that. If I get up enough encourage, I may try to unlock it for GSM domestic again. The procedure is very complicated.

Thanks

It's only complicated because there's so much info to sift through. The tutorials that are out there are overly repetitive, with too many unneeded steps thrown in. It's really 3 individual steps, when it comes down to it. Can be done in less than 5 minutes.

1. SIM unlock
2. Flash correct modem
3. Hidden menu steps

Well, I finally figured this out thanks to doing a bunch of reading on this thread and others, and thanks to helpful hinters here and elsewhere.

I read this thread and changed my band selection to ALL GSM, it seems that the phone will only accept one entry. Dicking with the LTE band selection undid the GSM preference.

"Follow the rest of the directions from the above link, setting all the settings to what is stated. EXCEPT where he says to set all the preferences to WCDMA ALL, GSM ALL and LTE ALL. When I selected one, however, an asterisk appeared after my selection leading me to believe that you can only select one of these and so I set mine to GSM ALL and left the others alone. This worked for me, so I thought I'd mention it."

I've also tried selecting LTE/GSM Mode only, as well as selecting Band 2/1900 to try to get LTE, and played with switching the APN from epc.tmobile.com to fast.tmobile.com. I've managed to receive 3G on a few occasions, but I can't determine the criteria for why it works sometimes. Mostly, I seem to receive 2G Edge, signified by the capital "E".

ANyway, I'm happy to have service (even if it's slow). I'm upgrading to the G4 when it comes out. Thanks to all the help on this thread!
I have this same issue. At one point I was able to get h+ with the wcdma option. But the towers went down in the area and I wasn't able to get it back until I switched to gsm only. I currently am able to get voice and data but only on 2g. I've tried multiple different apn settings. And every time I try to go back to wcdma I get no signs of life.

I figured out my issues. I actually wound up getting a att s4 and looked at the settings off that phone. Didnt get much info though.i wound up just changing one thing. Under the service mode check [3]lte, then [5]pref mode set, the [1] gsm/wcdma only. After I did that 4G was available.

It sucks that I had to get another s4 but I got it for a good deal so I guess this sprint s4 will be my back up.

Hello,

I have a problem where my phone only connects to LTE. If i force CDMA mode, it just shows full bars but no 3g symbol. Does anyone know of a fix? LTE only has one bar near my new place.

Thanks

So you have LTE coverage in your area but no GSM/UMTS/HSPA? Doubt that very much.... put it in GSM/UMTS mode and it should work fine
