Generic UA (Ukraine) that I downloaded myself with Flashtool.
It seems smoother than 4.4.2 to me. Battery life is about the same for me. :)

Customized FR is a generic firmware. They're just named differently when downloaded via XperiFirm or Flashtool, because they are technically customised with preloaded apps. ;)

OK.
I found a generic C6603_10.5.1.A.0.283_SFR_FR.ftf in gizmobolt and downloaded it.
I copied it in flashtool under the directory Firmware.
what are the next steps?
I thank you very much for your help!

SFR_FR is a branded firmware. You need customized_fr.

You need to make sure Flashtool drivers are installed. They're in the flashtool/drivers directory or available here.
Once they're installed, you open Flashtool, press the lightning bolt icon, choose flashmode, select your FTF, making sure to uncheck wipe data if you want to keep it. Press OK and you will be prompted to connect your phone in flashmode. To do this, your phone should be powered off and connect the USB to the phone and PC while holding volume down. The firmware will then flash. When it's completed, disconnect your phone and turn it on. Done. :)

I used the Customized UA. Because the Customized FR had one App installed which is only in French. And can not be uninstalled :-/ .
In the Customized FR you also can not change the Netmode to GSM Only, it only supports UMTS only, LTE/UMTS/2G and LTE/UMTS or so.

So if you want to change the Mode to 2G only in the French Version, you must do this via the Service Menu.

So i tooked the Customized UA. :)

I'm gonna look like a noob, but...
This 4.4.4 update brings improvements in ART (Android Runtime)?
Someone had played with ART on this new firmware??
I read in other thread that ART is available in 4.4.2 but when you enable it, the phone wont boot.
Any news?
I mean, just for fun cuz ART is not recomended and not supported.

Good to know!
In some post that I can't link I catched this picture:
post-6446-0-86147600-1402490733.jpg
(THIS PICTURE IS NOT MINE)
But, I just noticed that it's a Xperia ZL and based on that thread that I can't attach I asked here.
Maybe it's fake but it's good to know that is not supported in Stock.

I can't try the thread right now because my Xperia Z is on repair (self cracked).

Thanks

Can anyone confirm for me that when you want to OTA it only shows the next update, and not the newest?
I'm on 4.3 but it only shows 4.4.2 (230) OTA, while others have confirmed .283 OTA exists for my cust. number.
I want to see if OTA retains root like it did many times before.

Thanks

Yes, it will show only the next update, not the newest. You can't skip OTAs, you need to download all the OTAs.
Of course, if you are unlocked and have the TFT, you can skip updates or even downgrade!

Well, OTA failed.. I guess because of xdualrecovery.

So I just used PC companion and got to 4.4.4 no probs.
Already had downloaded .230 and .283 ftf with xperiafirm/flashtool so I flashed kernel from .230 for root and then back to .283.

All done within 10minutes :good::good:
