hey guys
i have this problem :
Anyone having issues not being able to boot into CWM recovery after flashing it (such as seeing android guy with exclamation mark):

according to line :
Delete or rename /system/etc/install-recovery.sh AND /etc/install-recovery.sh I renamed mine to bkup.install-recovery.sh in case i ever wanted to use them again for some reason.

when i want delete or rename this file , it says " install-recovery.sh cannot be deleted because the file system is read-only
it's the same for rename option

and i'm using ROOT EXPLORER

any ideas ?!

Umm...In all honesty, I'm kinda freaked out right now. I've read through about a dozen different bootloader unlocker instructions/methods and chose this one because it seemed to have the most consistent success rate and was the easiest to understand. I followed the instructions to a "T", but I'm now stuck on this screen:

Code:
SUF:105:1:2

Failed to boot 0x1000

No OS detected, going to RSD mode in 5 seconds
Press a key to stop count down
Available Modes are:
1 RSD
2 Fastboot
3 NvFlash
4 BP MW Bypass RSD
5 BP MW Bypass QC DLOAD
6 BP MW Diag & Boot AP
7 BP MW Bypass BP Only
8 BP SW Bypass RSD
9 Android Recovery
10 Boot Android (No BP)
11 Device UID
12 console=ttyS0,115200n8
13 Early USB Enumeration
14 BP Tools
-----------------------------
Vol Up to select, Vol Down
 for next choice

Current choice is mode:
     RSD
Starting Fastboot protocol support
I successfully finished all of the following steps:

Power Down your atrix
Take out your microSD card and SIM card for the flashing process
While turning the phone on, hold the Volume Up button until it acknowledges RSD. Your device will say “Starting RSD protocol support”
Run “RSD Lite” on your computer
Press the “. . .” button next to the box labeled “Filename”
Navigate to your desktop and open the motounlock folder and select the file named intl-fix-try1.sbf ( IT WILL BE DIFFERENT IF U ARE DOING THIS FOR ATT)
Plug your device into your computer. RSD Lite should recognize your device and say “Model: NS Flash Olympus” and “Connected…” The acronym 'NS' may be different for your device people!!
Press the “Start” button. The Flash actually failed for me, wait for it to complete to 100% it may FAIL or PASS! just make sure it gets to 100% leave your phone sitting for about 10 minutes AFTER RSD SAYS FAIL/SUCCESS.
If nothing is happening after 10mins, perform a battery pull. Power the phone on while pressing vol-down. “Fastboot” Will show up on screen. DONT PLUG IT IN YET. Press volume up and let your phone sit. You will see “Starting Fastboot protocol support" LEAVE IT UNPLUGGED

press the windows key + R on your computer, type cmd and press enter
command prompt will open. type cd C:\users\YOURNAME\desktop\motounlock press 'enter'
...but the motounlock folder I have the files in actually has the extension "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\motounlock" (I use an old version of XP).

So, finally, here's the issue...every time I put in the "fastboot oem unlock" command into the cmd prompt, I get a response that says this:

'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
...and now I'm stuck and freaking out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! lol

Just a few other notes that some noobies might not get:
Be sure to download FASTBOOT to the motounlock folder... otherwise the fastboot oem unlock command won't work.

Once unlocked with fastboot, reboot the phone into fastboot... otherwise the command to erase recovery won't work.

After recovery is erased, type "fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img" ... not the name of the recovery image.

Thanks a lot for your work on this. It took a lot of trial and error, but with a few more tweaks you'll have an awesome guide! CHEERS!!

Best tutorial for freeing your Atrix.

I am new to Atrix and was confused on the safest way to root my virgin Atrix running stock 2.3.6 Bell Rom. All the tutorials are for 2.3.4.
This guide worked great for me and I can confirm that there no issues with unlocking Bell's stock 2.3.6.
The only thing that was not clear for me was when and how to root the phone, but I used unlockroot com and it did the trick.
Tayshun12, you may consider adding this one step to your guide.
I am also not sure if I need to do ramfix
Now I am unlocked, rooted and enjoying Neutrino's ROM V2.1p.
Wow, it feels like a new phone!:D

Best tutorial for Atrix.
Thank you for making it!

/etc/install-recovery.sh will automatically be placed in /system/etc if /system/etc/install-recovery.sh is not found on boot.
So, you must delete or rename both, THEN INSTALL CWM recovery.

rename the files using ROM Toolbox's root explorer as some file explorers will not give you the proper access levels to delete or rename the files correctly.
Install Astro or Root explorer and you will see it. :D

Hi, were you able to fix this problem? I have tried to use ROM Toolbox and it didn't see any root access on my phone, and so, I'm not able to delete the file. Do i still need to root my Atrix separately? I've tried looking for any superuser app after the whole process but i can't see it as well.

Please help anyone, thanks!

After you unlock the bootloader you have to root. rooting and bootloader unlock are separate procedures. If you install a custom firmware they usually come pre-rooted. So you can either install a custom firmware or just use the rooting too in the post above mine to root your phone! after that you should have no problem doing whatever!
