It is not actually a good idea to have so many frequencies being used... that way processor would be too busy stepping through them using too many cycles just for that. Using 3 or 4 tops would be much better but then again U would have to compile like 20 kernels for all tastes.

Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Agreed. Personally I just want one between 600 and 768 (like 672) but as it stands I have not gotten it stable with it added.

My goal is to ultimately have 245, 400, 480, 600, ~700, and the higher ones. And yes the reason for all the frequencies in one kernel is so I don't have a bazillion to compile.

May I be so stupid to ask why 245 is the lowest?
I've read that even 19Mhz is possible (maybe not stable) but isn't there any frequency lower then 245Mhz that's stable? I just like to have a really good battery life.

@Gammar: thanks for editing first post for v4.0 kernel. Now I understand how it works :D

I tried to overclock my legend to 787MHz... TRASH!!! It crashes and going to restart several times per day.
Now I don't know how I am gonna undo kernel? where I can download original kernel of my ROM? maybe it's somewhere in ZIP file of my ROM?

Im using 787MHz and its perfectly stable for me, its different for each phone. U can try with 768, and that could work for u.

Or u can try one of BlaY0's kernels (u can find them her) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807559

If you'd read my post properly I give instruction on how to restore the original kernel. So go re-read it. But HpX is also correct, the correct version of BlaY0's kernel for your ROM would probably do it (although I wouldn't recommend it, they change a lot more stuff too) They're good kernels, just not quite what you're after...

There is a way of flashing the kernel from the .zip of your ROM; I'll look into it, and maybe add instructions in the OP. Ok?

Is an update.zip available with an overclocked 2.6.32.17 Kernel?

I installed the rooted Vodafone 2.2 Rom and it is as fast as the 2.1 Rom with the CPU overclocked to 768Mhz -- so it would be awsome to overclock the CPU again - than it would be really really fast :)

We need kernel source code first

What about for 806 MHz? Do we also need kernel source code for that? What about tomorrow? Will we still be needing the source?
