Not sure if this has been posted, but here's how I recovered from an over-enthusiastic overclock and a bootloop.

Get into recovery (vol down + power, vol down, vol up + power), and issue:

adb shell
mount /data (you may not need this as recovery should (AFAIK) mount it already)
cd /data/data
rm -r com.mhuang.overclocking

That should remove all the settings. Reboot, remove SetCPU and reinstall. I had SetCPU force-closing constantly until I removed and reinstalled.

Hope this helps someone.

OK people, I have read the entire thread and I am still not convinced to try overclocking. My Legend is running smoothly just as it is, with its humble 600 MHz, so can someone of you guys tell me some practical benefits from OCing: for example, if gallery thumbnails update faster, applications are opening faster, my phone spitting 500 EUR bills on a daily basis, etc... Thx :)

[EDIT] Gradual transformation to HTC Desire HD is also considered a benefit.

The maths tells us that the phone should go faster. Agreed, the device performs fine at 600MHz, we just wanted to push it a little further. If you don't see any practical benifits to overclocking this device, then don't ;)

Thanks, I just wanted to hear opinions from the people who have already tried OC, did they actually see the difference and is it worth doing it

Not really. The newer version basically integrated all the kernels into one, so unless you have a need to push it further on rare occasion (to show off) then it's probably not worth it.

I read through the v4 section in your guide but could not understand anything (as expected) so i thought you could shed some light on the changes i would have to do from following your guide.

Probably flashing stuff might be same ?

I cant see the zip file that i downloaded in the recovery menu. There are just 4 options :

Reboot system now
Apply sd card:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

and an some text written in yellow at the end
E: Cant open /cache/recovery/command
