umm.. hello this tutorial is for p500 only. Not for p509So far, KDZ has done nothing for me except for brick two phones. I've followed your instructions implicitly and they ultimately failed, resulting in a phone that would not turn on. About six months ago, when I first got an Optimus, I had attempted to install Clockwork Mod using Rom Manager, and the result was a phone that would only boot into recovery mode with the three button combo, else it would just end up in an eternal boot loop.
Someone on another forum recommended using KDZ to flash the official firmware (V10C I think at the time) and the result back then was the same. KDZ crashed halfway through the process and the phone would no longer turn on.
I've read conflicting information on this, stating that KDZ will only work on Windows XP 32 bit w/ service pack 3 (which I had at the time I attempted to flash six months ago) and that it should run on any version of Windows. I was running KDZ from Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit this last time.
All in all, I would not recommend KDZ to anyone except someone who has already bricked their phone and is just using it as a last ditch effort to regain functionality. Worst case scenario, it should **** the phone up enough that your cell phone provider won't be able to figure out what you did to the phone. That's what I'm hoping, otherwise T-mobile will be tacking an extra $300 onto my phone bill next month.
Kdz files are to be flashed with kdz updater, so, yes.Can this method be used to flash that final Romanian 2.3 kdz that was leaked? This process seems to be kinda risky...
did you move your apps to sd card. in my case kdz did not even detect the phone and crashed when it was doing so.Trying to use KDZ Updater but when phone goes to Emergency Mode the whole process just stops. So I have to unplug my phone and restart it and nothing gets updated. I followed all instructions to the letter but no luck![]()
I flashed to GB v20g using LGMDP on my 64bit Win7 machine. KDZ updater did not work. After a few seconds running it just stopped responding. But everything went smooth with lgmdpHi all,
Since I purchased my P500 already rooted and with a custom ROM installed, I want to learn this KDZ process so I'm able to return my phone to stock settings in the case I want to sell it in the near future. I've already downloaded the original stock firmware specific to my mobile carrier (using the process described on another post that uses the phone's serial number).
My specific questions are:
1-) I don't care about saving anything currently on my phone or SD card, because all my important data (contacts, calendar, email) is in Google's cloud. Since I'm currently using LOL 1.4.2 which uses DarkTremor script (so all my apps are actually on the SD), do I have to do that step of "moving apps to internal memory"??. If the whole firmware is going to be replaced do I have to care about moving apps from the SD before starting the KDZ process?
2-) I've seen some people ask about doing the process with a Windows 7 machine but information does not seems conclusive. Will this process work normally on a Windows 7 32-bit laptop? What about a Windows 7 64-bit laptop (I have two computers)
What I hoping to do is learn and apply this process and take my phone back to stock, and then I want to do the whole process of rooting and flashing it back to LOL 1.4.2. I've tackled pretty well the Custom Recovery and ROMs process, but it will be the first time rooting because I didn't do the rooting on my current phone.
