Hi all,

Since I purchased my P500 already rooted and with a custom ROM installed, I want to learn this KDZ process so I'm able to return my phone to stock settings in the case I want to sell it in the near future. I've already downloaded the original stock firmware specific to my mobile carrier (using the process described on another post that uses the phone's serial number).

My specific questions are:

1-) I don't care about saving anything currently on my phone or SD card, because all my important data (contacts, calendar, email) is in Google's cloud. Since I'm currently using LOL 1.4.2 which uses DarkTremor script (so all my apps are actually on the SD), do I have to do that step of "moving apps to internal memory"??. If the whole firmware is going to be replaced do I have to care about moving apps from the SD before starting the KDZ process?

2-) I've seen some people ask about doing the process with a Windows 7 machine but information does not seems conclusive. Will this process work normally on a Windows 7 32-bit laptop? What about a Windows 7 64-bit laptop (I have two computers)

What I hoping to do is learn and apply this process and take my phone back to stock, and then I want to do the whole process of rooting and flashing it back to LOL 1.4.2. I've tackled pretty well the Custom Recovery and ROMs process, but it will be the first time rooting because I didn't do the rooting on my current phone.
1. You have to reinstall all the apps if you are flashing through KDZ. It is normally suggested to remove the SD card while flashing through KDZ. Just copy all the required files to the desktop and format the card.

2. KDZ flashing went smooth on my x64 Windows 7 Ultimate Edition. And I've used that process thrice I guess, on x64.

Hope it helps.

no need to uninstall any app. just move all to phone memory.

OK think I got it, so the step about moving to sd seems to be related to saving your current installed Apps, but since I don't care about saving anything then I should not need that step.

I'm also curious about something: If I flash to Gingerbread V20 (which obviously has the new baseband) and then I just want to take back the phone to the stock V10 Froyo Rom (I have that kdz file) I would just need to reflash with KDZ and that would take care of putting back the original baseband?

Nice tutorial :)

One time I flashed it with KDZ I forgot to disable virtual modem but it all went fine, so I don't think it's a disaster if somebody forgets this step.

I'm stuck on the boot animation after doing this. Am I bricked? It stayed on that menu until the battery ran out all last night. Make it even worse if I try it again or can I even try it again?

I'm actually very interested in this method for return to stock Froyo... I don't even want to have 2.2.1 or higher.. I just want my old sluggish Froyo, because Gingerbread official turns out very buggy and... stupid.

I found this thread and somebody said it actually works... but I don't want to do it because I don't want to brick the phone.

Omg, I bricked my phone. :D Guys, could you help me, please? I attached a log. The problem is that, when program says that it finisshed its job, phone does not reboot. Just shuts down. I was using KDZ installer when I wanted to go back to stock ROM, from CM7. :(

When I turn on my phone, LG logo apears, then ANDROID logo apears and flashes after 5 seconds, and apears again. This keeps happening all the time.

EDIT:

Calmed down after shock, got the topic:
