EMUI is surely not everyone's favorite, but maybe some of you like it, except for the forced app icon backgrounds? Or maybe you already installed another launcher (like me) an want to get rid of the last bit of EMUI design? Here is how, and its pretty easy actually:

- download and install a file explorer app, such as es file explorer (my personal favorite)
- browse to /data/skin and delete all contents, but leave the empty folder
- reboot device

potential restrictions: since i am on a rooted phone, i dont know if this is going to work on a non-rooted device, u may have to have root priviliges to gain modification access in the /data folder. also, it could be that ure removing additional theme components by deleting the whole skin folder (i.e. wallpaper). since im on nova launcher and use minima pro as a live wallpaper, it didnt concern me, so be warned! ;)

cheers

Thanks for posting this. I'm the Minima dev and I get questions from EMUI users about this all the time. It'll be nice to have something for them to try.

What's weird is that it doesn't seem to do icons for all live wallpapers. I had a user send me a screen shot showing Phase Beam working but not Minima.

Ha, i didnt expect to get the attention of the Minima dev with this, funny :D Glad to be of service, I actually stumbled upon this myself when searching through the net :)

Btw, great work on Minima, after years of wallpaper abstinence (= black background) this was the first instance, where I enjoy having a wallpaper again in a looong time :)

Cheers

Anyone figure out how to fix the notification pulldown? I have a pretty dark background & the black lettering just washes it the background since the dock is semi transparent... all you can see is the icon...

Or you can use this theme and apply its icons in your theme app, or you can download my Moonshine icon pack port to EMUI (In my signature) once it's finished! ;) All that without root privileges.
Great tips! About thé Only skin that doesnt look like its 4 a 5 years old

Yes, but only on homescreen and drawer. In notification bar and drop down, at selection which app will be used for an action u will have the huawei icons
