Hi,
Great thanks for info.
I tried to root my legend and below are the steps i have gone through:
1. I have downgraded software to 1.31 as it was higher earlier.
2. I hv successfuly created a gold card.
3. While rooting my legend, step1 was completed correctly. In step 2, i reached till recovery screen but couldn't select wipe option as volume butten did not moving to other selections. And so i couldn't flashed rootupdate.zip
Now the worst thing is, after all that i got some bugs on my phone such as: traceball not working. G-sensor calibration auto sense is also not working.
Even i tried to reset factory settings.
Now the baseband verson become 47.26

Plz help. Thanks.

do i HAVE to have a goldcard to root my phone?
According to the info in the thread (have a read of it?), specifically, just 6 posts before yours, if your phone is branded/locked, you need a Goldcard.
If your phone is unbranded/unlocked, a GOldcard is not required.

I cannot personally confirm whether this is correct or not.

My phone is unbraded and unlocked.
Here i am not really concerned about rooting my device now. But i need to fix issues of traceball and auto g-sensor calibration.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Hopefully you can get your phone back to how it was when you bought it.
I'm afraid I cannot help you on that one but I too would be interested to know if it's possible.

It would be useful to know for those who are a little cautious when it comes to rooting :).

I'm sure someone will come along and help you...

I suggest you read the instructions again and try the whole proceedure again from the beginning.
The trackball is the most sensitive part of the Legend build. use it to scroll up and down and press it to select an item, or use the volume up and down button and power to select alternatively.
Format your sd card and make a gold card again.
Let us know how it went.

Other solution to rooting :D

I had a legend that was defect but rooted it any way and it rooted like butter no problems. I played with all roms and unrooted it and got a new legend 2 day and started to root it but this time i ran to issues

rebooting into bootloader... OKAY

Step 1 complete - now use the bootloader menu to enter recovery mode.

To do this, press the power button, wait a few seconds, then use the volume keys and power button to select the RECOVERY option.

Pushing update file to device sdcard - this may take a few minutes...

error: device not found

Now wipe and apply rootedupdate.zip from the recovery image menu.

[email protected]****-desktop:/home/****/r4-legend-root# error: device not found

I did this twice and i got another error first time i ran step 2 the above output is from last attempt.
I got sick of the errors so i just did as terminal said : Now wipe and apply rootedupdate.zip from the recovery image menu.
And the Fake Flash method worked right after step 1 so we dont really need step 2 for anything it's only to install the simple rooted rom from the rooting package.
And now i am running Azure 0.2 THANKS FOR THAT "ALI" strait after step 1 :D

I hope this is helpful to all whom cant get step 2 to work:cool:
