Has anyone successful downgraded back to ZV6 from ZV9?

I just downgraded yesterday to do the wifi tether exploit. Now I'm back to ZV9 with the exploit still intact. I fear I'll lose it if I take the ZVA update though. Can't seem to find anyone that can say one way or the other.

this is not my first root, but most of my Android knowledge is with HTC phones. I am having trouble trying to downgrade to ZV6 so I can root. I've followed multiple tutorials on how to downgrade with LG up and LG flash tool. LG UP says my LS991ZV6.tot files(have tried 2 and verified md5 before hand) are not proper tot files. Also tried the LG flash tool method with no success. Is there a crucial step I am blindly missing? Thanks.

Well, yes, kind of painful since I got stock on the Sprint Spark boot image (no boot loop, just the image) . So the painful part is that I needed to do a factory reset from factory recovery (lost everything )... but it then went ok.

It won't let me reset it... I keep doing exactly what was said... the reset menu doesn't come up. I'm in the same situation you were in. Sprint logo just hangs.

GOT IT! I went into recovery mode by holding power and volume down (without releasing). Then factory reset. BAM it worked.

I noticed after you flash you need to factory restore via recovery for it to boot.
Anyone know if this root will hold after an update to ZVA?

If my phone has never been rooted and I took the OTA update to ZV9, am I safe to downgrade to ZV6 without any troubles? My battery life is terrible on MM

If my phone has never been rooted and I took the OTA update to ZV9, am I safe to downgrade to ZV6 without any troubles? My battery life is terrible on MM

Where you able to downgrade? I also have a phone with ZVA and want to downgrade to ZV6 but to SIM unlock it to use international.
Has anyone else done it with that specific version. I just want to be sure.

Edit: Also do I need to do both methods or only the LGUP one if its first time?

Ok i followed the LGUP steps only and worked great.
After downgrade, I rooted, sim unlocked and flashed ULTRAPOP 1.1 hp image.
So far so good. Testing stage.

But boy what a pain in the but DL all this heavy images. First time tinkering with this new LG Phones

I'm having issues doing the downgrade. I was on VZA but now on VZ9. I flashed the TOT for version VZ9 via LG UP and that worked fine, then I flashed the VZ6 TOT and the process completes ... then the phone reboot and gets stuck on the SprintSpark splash screen. Is anyone else having this issue or have a workaround for this?

Update: I'm an idiot, found what I'm looking for.

I'm having the same issue. My phone is stuck on bootloop (LG boot animation screen) after downgrading from ZV9 to ZV6. How do I fix this?

well i downgraded to the zv6 and now my phone wont turn on, the screen is black, down i try to put it into recovery by pressing vol down and power, it just vibrates once and thats it.
