[HOWTO]Vodafone Froyo for DEbrandend Legends

Massive thanks to RunSeven

I followed the link to downgrade but used a vodafone UK rom (instead of the one mentioned) to put my Legend back to how it was before I debranded it. That allowed me to upgrade to FroYo using the OTA updates.

Obviously I now have the branding back, but I can live with that.

Which RUU? number 1.32?

windows and r key opens execute.

type: "cmd" and hit enter.

change directory to c:\sdk\tools

then type "crackin.bat" and hit enter

I'm attempting to re-brand handset back to Vodafone as to get froyo.

When i de-branded i went straight to 2.03.405.3

I'm having no luck in getting back to Vodafone 1.32

Do i need to do ota update to 2.05 first?

Froyo is running

Thanks a lot I have been able to install Froyo in my debranded Legend, now it is again branded. I follow your way, only difference is that in first step I used RUU 1.32 from Vodafone UK, I was unable to use 1.31. Now Froyo is running in my Legend.

I'm not realy experienced in this stuf but I really want Froyo.
Hope this is the easiest way to get Froyo on my debranded phone.

OK i'm getting there.
But when i install RUU_Legend_Vodafone_UK_1.32.161.4_R_Radio_47.26.35.04_7.05.35.26L_release_126590_signed there is only an option for English language but even though its selected everything is German.

Can you give me any pointers? obviously i'm looking for english Vodafone rom

OK all sorted now, had to skip all though setup then find settings and then language then set to English.

One thing i did find though that may help others. I'm on Windows 7 32 bit and every time i want to put a new rom on handset, it always takes 2 attempts, 1st time always comes up with the not connected error, then if i just retry it goes on fine. dont even have to unplug or reconnect handset.

HELP! I've tried to follow wag3slav3 downgrading method but am a total noob. I downloaded all the elements needed (i think) but don't have a clue where to type in the required commands. Where do I find the terminal window /tools/directory? I tried in the cmd window by changing directory android\android-sdk-windows\tools but none of the commands are recognized. Could someone please help me with a simplified guide? Thanks.

Cheers mancrunch i'll have a look at that. When I installed sdk it said adb was working but had loads of trouble installing tools components. I also used the goldcard tool from klutsh. It seemed to work fine. Is there a way to know/confirm I definitely have goldcard?

Please need some explanation:
I debranded my legend from [FASTWEB] (italy), and now with the official update of HTC i have 2.05.405.2 cl191838, but can't download froyo. so my question, if I try to rebrand to this Vodafone Froyo all will be smooth & clean? no problem in the flashing process???

Mine updated to froyo ok via official Voda/HTC updates once i re-branded to voda.

Only thing i found is the RUU from voda only had German language on but managed to skip through set up and changed it via settings, not bad seeing i dont speak a word of German.

Also all roms i tried seemed to fail 1st time of trying but re-tried and went ok
