Soooo.....

There are a few Stock apps that are not liked by all users.

This thread is supposed to provide Alternative apps, if you have any recommendation, feel free to post it :)

Google Fotos:
Problems: Shows stupid Cloud signs, bad navigation, takes ages to load if you want to add a Picture via another app.

Alternatives:
HTC Gallery
Sony Album http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/app-xperia-app-stock-rom-t3263403
CM QuickPic https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder

HTC TouchPal Keyboard:
Problems: Feels horrible to use.

Alternatives:
Google Keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin
Sony Keyboard http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/app-xperia-app-stock-rom-t3263403
Swiftkey https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey

If you have any better apps, please tell me :)

Better than QuickPic and the discontinued hTc Gallery - anyhow implies some thoughtful The Settings walk through to be done once after its installation.. ???

I sideloaded HTC Gallery and Google Camera (because neither appear in the Play Store on my device). Gallery works great (and also installs Photo Editor) and Google Camera, unlike HTC Camera, still has photosphere, which works with Google Cardboard, as opposed to HTC Camera's only 360 degree "flat" panorama.

Kind of annoyed because they said we could download Gallery from the Play Store. Would be especially annoyed if I was a mainstream user and couldn't sideload it.

And what were they thinking with TouchPal? I just want the normal Sense keyboard back :( I will say though, I downloaded the light Android L theme and it is loads better than what they give you stock.

Also sideloaded the HTC gallery and everything works except when you go to try and save the photo in Photo Editor after editing it, it says SAVE FILE FAIL.

You have the save problem?

Yes, same thing happens, but that doesn't matter because I usually edit photos with Aviary, not the bare-bones "stock" editor with Gallery.

If you have HTC gallery, take a photo then look at it. Can you delete it or switch to the next picture?
Yes; no problems there.

Did you deactivate Google App before you installed HTC Gallery?

You said sideload.... via adb?
I just installed the apk. So it's not a system App.

I've installed the Google Dialer, but when making a call it always opens up the HTC dialer and calls from there. Any trick to get it to use the Google dialer?
