Hello Everyone,

After long hours of research I am finally posting this for the ones who have HTC Desire 310 dual sim.

The first guide is to root your phone :

Basically we have 2 methods of rooting :

Method 1 : [Using iRoot App]

(i) This was the method adopted by me and will work 100%. It is the easiest method to root.
(ii) First of all download iRoot.apk from the below link.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/t8q3j578anzn8g9/iroot.apk

(iii) Now install this app on your HTC desire 310.
(iv) When the app opens up you could see a "ROOT Now" Button.Press that and within a few seconds your device will be Rooted.
(v) It will install a superuser application Kinguser on your device.

Hurrah! You have rooted your device.

Now if you want to replace Kinguser with supersu continue reading else move to second method of rooting.........
1. Download and install terminal emulator from the link provided below........Also download the zip file the link of which is given just below terminal emulator......

http://www.mediafire.com/download/w6ghis16ma4neh5/Terminal_Emulator.apk

http://www.mediafire.com/download/u9ymfaaj9oycbuq/Replace_VRoot_With_SuperSU.rar

2. Open the zip file you downloaded and extract the folder "mrw" to the root of your sdcard.

3. Open terminal emulator and type:
"su "
to grant root access.
>> Type:
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh (Be careful of the path you give should be the exact path of extracted folder).

You phone should automatically reboot after the process.
That's all. You have just successfully replaced kinguser with SuperSU. If supersu asks to update binary plz do so......

If Kinguser is still there then don't worry..
Just uninstall it manually and if it's system app, use root unistaller.

Method 2 : [By Connecting to PC and using one click root tools]

The next method is to connect your device to your PC and then Root.
Follow the below steps :

(i) First of all enable USB Debugging on your Device [Settings > Developers Options]
(For those who cannot see developers options in Settings have to go to "About Phone" and tap on "Build Number" 7 times)
(ii) Now connect your phone to your pc via usb cable.

For proper installation of adb drivers download the following software.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/m7ovx8y9la4ljni/Adb_Driver_Installer.exe

(iii) Open this and install the drivers for your device.
(iv) Now follow the below link and download Root Genius :

http://www.shuame.com/en/root/

(v) Open it and click on root and your Device will be rooted.

Now if you want to install Clockworkmod recovery v6 on your device then follow the below steps :

Caution : Very Important : Please have a look at your build number before installing this CWM recovery.
(i) Go to Settings -> About Phone and Scroll Down on the build number section.
(ii) Those having build number 1.03.708.12 or similar to this may proceed installing the recovery.
(iii) Those having build number 1.00.411.7 SHOULD NOT INSTALL THE RECOVERY AT ALL OTHERWISE YOU WILL SUFFER A BOOTLOOP.
(iv) Those having build number other than this may contact me either by posting on the forum or by pm me before installing CWM.

This recovery is for both, the DUAL SIM as well as the SINGLE SIM MODEL.

(i) Download the clockworkmod recovery from the below link.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/a20274ql4ptk84c/Clockworkmod+Recovery+HTC+Desire+310+Dual+Sim.img

(ii) Rename the downloaded file to "recovery" and place it on yor external sd card.
(iii) Now download "Rashr Flash tool" from play store.
(iv) Open the app and click on Flash recovery.
(v) Now search for the recovery file that you placed in your sd card.
(vi) Select the file. Hurrah you have installed CWM Recovery on your device too.
(vii) You can also watch the following video by me to get step by step tutorial on installing CWM Recovery.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSXEuDwKjT4

You can check by powering off your phone and the pressing the power and vol up button together. You will surely get the CWM recovery menu.

ATTENTION : Please donot try all these methods if your are new to these terminologies. First read and understand about the consequences of rooting and then move forward.

Those who want the stock rom, here's the link to it......
http://www.needrom.com/download/htc-d310w/
Follow the steps given there to install the stock Rom.

This forum has been started for this device only.
If you have any questions regarding this device you are most welcome to post here.
If you have any links for Custom ROMS for the device you can post the links in this Forum.
Please feel free to contact me or PM me.

PLEASE HIT THANKS IF I HELPED

Need help!

Hey man..my first post here.

Anyways, so I tried your method.
I already had a rooted Desire 310 dual sim.
However,I flashed the .img using Flashify because Rashr flash tool was giving some error.
Now I have a big problem..the phone is stuck at a boot loop..I cannot go into recovery mode..neither the PC not ADB is recognizing my device.
I understand that no one is responsible for this and that I took the risk..but would really appreciate any help.
What are my options.
Thank you

Seriously man you have done a silly mistake. My only advice to you is to try to flash the stock recovery, the link of which is given in my post by connecting to pc.
Hope it will help you.

Hey man,
I have got a solution to your problem. Just follow the below steps.
1. Firstly if you have installed the recovery via flashify then remove the battery of your phone and reinsert it. Now hold the power and volume up button together.

2. This will reboot your phone into Custom Recovery Mode.

3. Next, take the following steps using the Recovery Options:

– Wipe data/Factory reset
– Wipe cache partition
– Go to Advance and Wipe dalvik cache

4. Head over to main menu and Reboot your phone using the option Reboot phone using the Recovery Option.

Done.
You've fixed the bootloop. Good luck.
If I helped please press thanks.

Hi

Hi ishan,
sorry if i bother you, but i don't wanna have a brick phone. Your Tutorial seems to be too simple rather than the other on the HTC Desire 310 main post. Are you really sure that this is the method? Is a normal flashing?

Are you able to make a small video demonstrating the method and the working CWM, please?

Thanks a Lot

@ Ishan16, Thanks for your replies man and for trying to help me out with solutions.
However, I was not able to go into the recovery at all hence, factory/hard reset was not possible.
I tried all possible methods to unbrick my phone but to no avail.
I tried to flash the stock rom via SP flash tool but that didn't work either.I don't think Odin will help ,cause I can't go into download mode.I had taken backup of my stock rom as well via MTK droid tools but couldn't flash that as well.
And as I had posted above neither PC would recognize my phone in Windows Explorer nor ADB tool.

I can't post outside links until I reach 10 posts or would have posted the error I got on SP flash tool.

Finally, I have given my phone for JTAG service.

Anyways I appreciate your help bro..don't know what went wrong, not sure if it was the Flashify tool.

Cheers.

Hi,
It's very sad to inform you that if you don't have root access and have not installed cwm, you cannot do anything with the firmware since your phone is not starting up. The only advice to you is to send it for service centre if it is in warranty.
Hope it might help.

Thanks

Well for your assurance I have provided the video tutorial in the post for installing CWM recovery which works without any error.
The only thing you need is to follow step by step procedure and use only RASHR flash tool for flashing.
Hope this might help you.
Follow the link for the video:

Thanks a lot. So if I follow those simple steps I won't brick my phone? I've got the single SIM version but I don't think it will change something. Am I wrong ?

NO

I'm sorry to inform you that this method bricked my device. I followed all steps but it hard bricked like other methods. I had to restore everything, taking me 5 hours to revive my phone. To avoid other users' brick, please remove this post. It can do lots of damage for users who can't reflash stock firmware

There is a major difference between single and dual SIM HTC DESIRE 310. I clearly mentioned that this guide is for the dual SIM model. If you can't read properly please do not blame me and misguide the forum. Just because of your stupid assumption that single SIM HTC DESIRE 310 will have the same recovery as that of dual SIM you bricked your phone. I have clearly demonstrated in the video how to install CWM and after that I don't suffer a brick at all. Please stop misguiding others and search somewhere else for your device.
Thanks.

Hey CALM THE F**K DOWN

Hey calm down, I didn't say that your guide is fake, I only said that you must specify more that this is ONLY for dual sim, and if you thought it was good for both, to remove it to avoid other bricks. Because many people thought that it was for THE htc desire 310, as nobody think that there are heavy differences between single and dual type of any android phone, and nobody discovered it.
So don't insult me, you are rude. You were wrong, admit it. You must specify:

THIS IS ONLY FOR HTC DESIRE 310 DUAL SIM VERSION

Before calling me rude please have a look at the Title of the post. It is clearly mentioned HTC DESIRE 310 DUAL SIM. And in future before blaming others please have your eyes wide open and read exactly what is written.
Thanks

Dude I think you have bricked your phone too..I had to wait 2 weeks and spend 3.5k to replace the entire motherboard..
I don't think we can install custom Rom or recovery on our phone as of yet.

Good luck unbricking your phone.

The ROM provided can only be flashed via custom recovery like cwm.
But not to worry..... I have a solution for you. Move forward to the stock recovery mode.
When in the stock recovery mode follow the steps below :

– Wipe data/Factory reset
– Wipe cache partition
– Go to Advance and Wipe dalvik cache

4. Head over to main menu and Reboot your phone using the option Reboot phone using the Recovery Option.

Done.
You've fixed the bootloop. Good luck.
If I helped please press thanks.
