Yes I made full wipe twice before flashing. I observed only a particular area is not responding to touch. I checked it on camera and try to focus by touching everywhere on screen, but effected area is taking touch of nearby and not exactly where finger is.
You could try a screen calibration app. But I'm thinking there is something else going on.
It would most likly be the digitizer that is good, and the LCD that is bad. But that is not a definate till the device is opened up. It could also be the Flex Cable that has gone bad ( torn ) .
Did you already Update your Touchscreen firmware ? You can find it HERE. If that does not work then I would lean towards opening up the Device, to see what's going on. If the Flex Cable is intact ( not torn ) . Then your Digitizer may be going south.

Just be wary. Not all digitizers are created equal. I've bought a few that were a great price. But turned out to be a not so great productI searched a lot for evo shift digitizer and finally ordered from here.
I found some other spare parts too. Now, I am waiting for my shipment.

Today I replaced the digitizer with front housing and my shift is like new again
I found this deal great coz I got digitizer+front housing for $5 more than just for digitizer from Repairs Universe. Also I got my shipment in 5 days.

Cleaning isn't going to do anything. You can try several different things to narrow it down. But before you do a question. Do you hear any Crunching noise when you slide the Keyboard in or out ? Does the Screen Flicker or go Back ? Reason I ask, as has been mentioned in this thread, and many others is that sometimes non responsive spots on the Screen turn out to be a Bad Flex Cable. Did this just start ? Try doing a Full Wipe, and Flash a different Rom.
