Try factory resetting it from within hboot?
As soon as the phone reboots , from fastboot or hboot, it goes to that encryption message screen. I tried factory reset may be 10 times. It's not letting me unlock the bootloader as well. The unlock file gets accepted on fastboot. Then the phone has yes, no message. as soon as i mark Yes, it reboots to the encryption screen again. When I manually go to hBoot, it shows the bootloader is locked.

I followed your instructions and used the 0P6BIMG.zip to an sd card. Under HBOOT it started parsing the file. And after I did the volume up to move on with update, it restarted and from there went to boot loop and showed me the data encryption message. Same behavior as running RUUxxx.exe .

Is there anyway without reboot will I be able to wipe clean from firstboot ?

Thanks.
Hah .. this is getting harder ... no RUU exe or zip can work for you.

Try this command when in fastboot mode - and usb2.0

fastboot format userdata

Thanks ckpv5. You tried.

Meanwhile I tried something. From Hboot I selected recovery. Then the HTC logo came and then the screen deemed. I tried to press Power, volume, up and down simultaneously. After few try it looked like it went to recovery. But something was not able to mount, and then it went to boot to the encryption message.

I was able to capture it. Here is what it said :

Supported API: 3
Handle_cota_install: install cwpkg to /cache/data/cwtemp/cwpkg.zip
Handle_cota_install: install cwprop to /cache/data/cwtemp/cw.prop
Write host mode success
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument).. try emmc mount

what does this mean ?

The first 4 lines are normal but the one above is something that I worry as I stated on my first post (post #8). The emmc is maybe corrupted and that's usually only HTC centre can fix it.

I maybe wrong .. hopefully someone who understand more about hardware and your problem can give some advise.

I am in the same ****!! this problem came one fine morning. I tried almost everything in this thread and Dottat also helped. But we couldnt bypass the encrypt screen. I dont know how google is allowing this to happen. Google doesnt have a stricter hardware/software restriction for the security thing i believe.

If they made android fool proof, these sort of things shouldn't happen. How come one fine morning i could wake up to this bug. Almost everyone (this issues dates back to 2012 based on my search, also prevails in many operators-T-mobile, sprint, Verizon, Bell etc supplied mobiles) having these sort of issues are running into a phone magically turned into paper weight.

So i dont think there will be a fix in the future until Google brings in a fix in the Android OS to stop OEM's or Operators from taking too much control of the devices. Which ultimately leads to these sort of issues.

Even though HTC lets us to unlock the device bootloader. Here Verizon isnt letting us to unlock the device. IF we can unlock; that itself can fix the issue smooth as butter.

Think i should start a facebook campaign and let google, OEM's and operators like Verizon(who want to control the hardware even after we buy it) understand that whatever they are doing is not helping the customer. THIS IS A ERA of CUSTOMER. Whatsapp, google, Facebook etc -> every thing is valued because they have the customer <<numbers>>. So mind it and give us a better experience. Before many like me are awake and starts protesting

Not sure if this will help or not. I talked to HTC customer service and finally I sent the phone to HTC and they fixed it and charged me $75/-. They replaced memory and some other stuff , which meant I lost my data as well.

Hi Thanks for the update. My phone failed when i was in a outstation trip :(. Well yea i spoke with HTC, they also asked me to drop in to the stores. Not having warranty am a little hesitant to spend now on a almost outdated model.
