ive had no problems with my htc one m8 which ive had for almost a year now until today when it was at 60% but i threw it on a charger (to be clear this charger was plugged into a surge protector) and as soon as i plugged it in it went straight to 0% and turned off, wont turn back on, no led light or anything, wont charge, Tried multiple ways to reset, multiple button combos for very long times, htc cant seem to figure it out or help me. what happened. I can say the charger was really crappy and didnt work too well to charge things and i threw it away right after it happened. I tried charging the phone with 3 different chargers and charging to my computer, no devices recognized on computer either. I had alot of stuff on this phone and im pretty upset that its ruined. If anyone could maybe shed light on what happened, id appreciate it.

Same with my phone
Cool story.

Seriously, are you asking for help? It's not even clear. One sentence does not make a proper post, especially if you intend to ask for help.

In particular, we need specific details, if you want proper help. Just saying "same with my phone" isn't good enough. You used a crappy charger? You tried 3 different chargers? And it happened to you in 2016? I doubt everything is exactly the same as someone else's problem (it never is, in all my years on xda). Do yourself the benefit of giving specific details, not just lazily piggybacking on someone else's (3 year old) post.

Specifically, describe step by step what happened. Use as much detail as possible. Also, any specific button combos, or any other steps you tried (the OP's post that he tried "multiple button combos" is too vague - there are button combos that won't do anything by design, and some that are the right ones to try - only the correct button combos will do you any good).

And I assume you have an M8? It's not even clear from your post.

Htc one m8

Due to use of bad charger of 3 ampere with bad data cable , my htc one became dead , after checking we found that ic was blast XD NVM , we replaced the ic with HTC desire ic , and it works HTC turn on again , charging port was also out of order it was replaced too , , in my opinion if all the methods are not working or plug into PC it don't detect , finally you know what to do know , thanks finding a solution all there was to turn on by power and volume button pressing, :good::good:
