Hey peeps . Unless you didn't hear, our old JB Discussion thread was locked yesterday, due to...well, what else  trolling, flaming, the works. This left a gap, however, in where we, normal users could just relax and discuss about the recent Jellybean Update. This thread will serve that purpose.

Code of Conduct (CoC)

1. You are allowed to post your opinions about the Jellybean update.
2. You are allowed to post bugs you faced, so we may all band together and try and fix it.
3. You are allowed to post your opinions about the future updates (i.e You think we'll ever get 5.6.7 Key Lime Pie  )
4. You are allowed to post your observations about the recent update.

However

5. You aren't allowed to ask about ETAs.
6. You aren't allowed to whine about not receiving the update.
7. You aren't allowed to check or ask if your CID has received the update or not.
8. You aren't allowed to bash HTC for delaying the update in any way.
9. You aren't allowed to troll, flame or disrespect other members and their opinions.
10. You aren't allowed to stray off topic.

If you people can PROMISE me you will obey these CoCs, then by all means, welcome to this thread :highfive:. If you feel at any point you will break any of the above CoCs (especially if you're still waiting for the update), then please refrain from posting here and potentially ruining this thread for the rest of us. If a member is caught breaking any of the above CoCs, he will be reported.

To Mods : I know what happened to the last 2 threads. Knowing this, I take full responsibility over the coarse of actions that may occur in this thread.

Please guys, I truly believe you guys have it in you to keep this thread going in a civilized manner :).

FOLLOW THE RULES AND ENJOY YOUR STAY.

I think the best way to know if and who will give get the JB update is to go to this page:
https://start.htcsense.com/#device/onex

It will only show countries which have JB update, because this is the part of new Sense 4+ which comes only with JB update. It is prerequisite for JB update.

NOTE: when you visit the page it will redirect to:
https://start.htcsense.com/#countries
If you refresh the page after that you will get country list for HTC One X+ which is available globally and already comes with Sense 4+.
You have to enter the above url again to see list of countires for our One X.

Thanks :). But lets not bring in countries or carriers who will or have yet to receive the update. Then we'd have a giant debate going on and on about why HTC sucks by delaying the update. Still, appreciate the effort :highfive:

My observation is that JB seems to charge up faster than ICS. Anyone else notice this ?

Just asked HTC about the update rolling out in SEA, they said Jellybean is still in a large beta test, so I guess we all know what that means :D

Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

I have questions:

Is the Battery Percentage available in Statusbar in the final ROM (lets say 3.14.707.24)?
Can camera pictures be taken by pressing anywhere on screen?

My thought concerning the delay: As far as I read in forums, there is still an issue withe wakelock, reulsting in unnecessary battery drain. Maybe it has to be sorted out.
What is your guess, is 4.1 the next 2.3? I mean, you can't just step forward in versioning, there is somehow the need for adopted software development to have a somehow common base? I always see the need for compability updates in apps, when it comes to higher android versions, not only from 2.x to 4.x, but also in between 4.x .

I'm kind of annoyed of the steady changes in android versions, where no real innovation is taking place (especially considering 4.2 ...)

Ah well,

I was hoping for something earlier but Mark Moons wrote some weeks ago that Santa had a little JB gift, or something like that.

So, i'm 98 % sure it will arrive before x-mas in Holland.

Anything earlier would be a nice surprise.

I keep hearing about JB bugs in the released OTAs.
What bugs did you experience, and how bad are they?
I am already at peace with the idea that we may get JB in January.
Just curious to find out more about the november release.
Is it really off the mark by that much?

I'm also facing a terrible std-by drain after the JB update.

Found out that something is waking up my device every half hour to drain battery...

Trying to find out the root cause for the past few days, but no matter how many things I disable (Google Now, location stuff, maps, NFC, sync, and a million other things that turned my smartphone into a dumbphone), the battery kept draining like 20% overnight with no data, wifi or BT on...

I also did a factory reset, and installed most of my apps again (all working fine on ICS), and still the drain was there.

Now I tested the other direction, and did a complete factory reset, with none of my additional apps installed (only my contacts, adressbook and mail), and guess what, std-by drain is gone... Already 14h with only 4% gone now.

So now i'm gona install 5 apps at a time per day to see when it starts to drain again, so I can isolate the problematic app.

At least now I know its not my phone or JB thats causing the issue, but some app that doesn't like JB yet.

Check my thread for details / updates: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059127

Well, ever since I've opened this thread, I've never exactly shared my experience with JB. Well, I may be one of the fortunate ones because I have none of the common issues stated in this forum. My wi-fi is the same as before. I used GPS the day AFTER I updated and no problems. It's smoother for me. I don't mind the missing 3D animations. IMO, the UI is still beautiful and those 3D animations removed in favour of a smoother UI is a no brainer for me.

I have no problems with camera. No green tints. My phone, if I may, actually doesn't heat up as bad as it did on ICS (may be the updated hboot). It also seems to charge up faster. Battery drain seems more or less the same or even better. Sound quality is quite good for me. MTP is ok with me, as long as I can still drag and drop files.

The only things I find annoying, not bugs, are the constant Power Saver in the notifications and the fact they've removed Screen Time from battery usage. 1st one can be fixed by flashing a zip, I know.

Well, that's about it :). Im really, REALLY happy with the update. Hopefully 4.1.2 or even 4.2 starts rolling out in the near future.

Wait, you can turn off the backlight on the capacitive buttons? How, and on which firmware?

I'm on stock. Press power button until button lights start blinking (which happens after power menu shows up) and release it immediately, or else the phone will restart.
