where do i find out the version number of the radio installed on my sensation. before i update ?

gary
Settings>About Phone>Software Information>More>Baseband Information (Don't worry too much about whether it is a P or U after the first set of numbers, that can vary depending on operator and settings in the rom. Eg mine is 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M

--=[ How to flash a radio ]=--

This guide is for Windows users only! Your phone must be ENG S-OFF. Radio S-OFF is also highly recommended.

Requirements:
- HTC Sync
- A Windows PC

1. Connect your phone into a PC, and make sure that USB Debugging is enabled

2. Click "Start here". A black command prompt window will open

3. Type: "adb reboot bootloader"

4. Once your phone is in bootloader (white screen with text), type "fastboot flash radio radio.img"

5. When the flashing completes, type "fastboot reboot"

6. Done. Enjoy!

It's easier to get the radio from here - it is in PG58IMG.zip format, so you copy it to the root of your sd card and boot into bootloader and install it the same way you installed CWM Recovery.

To answer your questions though. You should be able to install HTC Sync from the sd card that came with your phone, or else download it from HTC.com.

If you've done the Revolutionary s-off it also allows you to flash a radio, so radio s-off is not necessary. The black command prompt is opening command prompt on your pc (ie Start - Run/Search - cmd.exe)

last question i hope. you say to install the zip to the root of my memory card. then install zip from sd card, coose zip, install.

but the link you said use yasy do it like this.
Download the your choice of radio for the HTC Sensation.
Make sure the filename is PG58IMG.zip exactly or it will not work and copy it to the same folder as adb (the /platform-tools folder within the Android SDK folder).
Connect the HTC Sensation to the computer via USB.
On the computer, open terminal and run the following commands:
Code:

adb push PG58IMG.zip /sdcard/PG58IMG.zip
adb shell md5sum /sdcard/PG58IMG.zip

is the way you say o.k to do ?

No, I didn't say to install it via CWM, I said to install like you installed CWM, ie copy PG58IMG.zip file to root of sd card, boot into bootloader and when the file is detected it will ask if you want to update. Press volume up to install.

Those instructions you referred using adb are just to copy the file to the sd card and to check the MD5 hash. On that orignal thread if you see the steps below that, that will show the steps as I now mention above

That's via bootloader not via clock work ;), but glad you got it sorted :D

My touchscreen stops being responsive! Whats going on!?
It seems to be happening to everyone after about a week of use, me as well. We think maybe an ota will fix it. But to do a quick fix of it just turn the screen off for a few seconds then turn it back on. it usually fixes it whenever it stops working.

  • some reported that it is because of hardware issue the back cover has poor connection to the pin ( need to be left up a little ) , search xda for lot of pics and solution for that problem .... fixed as they say
  • i think in the new update ,it is said that it fixes a bug in touch screen , i don't actually remember

Need to return to stock for a warranty replacement. But the link to filefactory for stock roms isn't working for me unless I pay for a download account. Any chance there's a mirror for a stock TMoUS ROM that you're aware of? Thanks so much!

  • all the links in file factory works, don't let it take you to the paid screen , if it does , close the window , and open link again , right click the file and download it with a file manager
  • use a download manager

  • you have to wait for sometime for a free slot

  • usually i wait 30 min to one hour then the download starts

  • i use jdownloader , it keeps checking until a slot is free
