I believe the arc is the nicest looking phone, the sgs2 probably the best for gaming, but touchwiz is gross hate iPhones. And the sensation looks like every other HTC phone out there. I am sure the sgs2 is going to rock all benchmarks for sometime but it is not to often you need all that power. Id go for the sensation because of the screen. Plan and simple. Will be sometime before we will need more, just needs some devs cooking a rom up. :) will be buying my sensation on the 5th when it hits Canada.

I didn't know so many people were this concerned with fashion! I think quite a few people in here would get on well with an iPhone.
Correct me if i'm wrong but don't you have an iphone???? And as i can see you have all the "fashionable" smartphones! Now who is concerned with fashion??? :p

To Samsung Fan boys here, why buy a SGS2 when an SGS2+ is around the corner in just a few months only. That will definitely beats SGS2....

Sensation is my Senses....

Did you not read my post? I like the SGS2. Yes it's crazy powerful and it can cure cancer but, there isn't anything wrong with the Sensation. If there were, you and this other dude wouldn't be lingering over here. Odds are you either have it and wish it's plastic body didn't suck nuts, or you can't afford it and are just trolling because you don't have anything better to do. Either way that's pretty weak.

Note: Just because Sammy makes a lot of their components doesn't mean that they're the best. The SGS1 line didn't use Samsung NAND, and they also fudged it with RFS. GPS was balls, and touchwiz really truly sucks. Sense at least looks nice.

Note 2: Samsung didn't make the A4. A Subisidiary that Samsung used to own, developed the Hummingbird and the A4 and both share a similar architecture. In Every single benchmark the Hummingbird CPU that you say Samsung developed fell way behind every Snapdragon, and Ti CPU in processing power. The SGS1 series dominated the competition in 3D performance but it just so happens that it wasn't a GPU that the all mighty Samsung built, no. It was the PowerVR SGX540 made by Imagination Technologies.

Note 3: Samsung had zero to do with the A5. Stop spewing nonsense.

The only thing I wish this phone had was a SAMOLED+ qHD screen.
Read your post. Respect your opinion as a fellow xda user

However, let me just check this. Irrespective of the phones we own, we're allowed to give our subjective opinion on different forums right? ;-) Afterall, here at xda, we all have an interest in a range of phones, right?

Some of your comments concern me. I do hope you're not taking these opinions on a what is merely 'a phone' as some form of personal dig. Its just opinion - all harmless subjective debate. Enjoy

You're probably right....even though I secretly hope ur mistaken. :-D I hate when that happens. Why do phone manufactures do that?!

I remember the same thing happening with my HTC diamond, with diamond 2 coming out a few months later....agghhh!

But whatever happens, for now, I'm happy with my 'temporarily ' cutting edge purchase

Your post was a breath of fresh air. No, I don't think I was taking it personally, but I was losing my patience a bit. Opinions are just that, and I do respect the opinions of others. I do however have little patience for comments like "this sucks, _____ is better, PWND!" with no substance behind it. I do apologize if I did come off a little harsh. The SGS2 is an amazing phone, but circumstances being what they are, I ended up going with the Sensation. Either way I don't think anyone could make a wrong choice between the two.

edit: I also hope you didn't think that my previous post was targeted at you; It was instead aimed at a couple lurkers who weren't participating in a proactive way. Negative comments are one thing, negative comments without merit are another.

No worries. Put in that context, I completely understand your comments now. Fairplay dude.

My god, what is this?! People having a difference of opinion and yet acting like adults, I thought this was a forum? Well done chaps, its always a surprise when humanity restrains itself from descending on the lowest common denominator (this forum has enough of that as it is).

And to HTC fanboys, if Samsung releases a SGS2+, HTC will release a Sensation II making the original Sensation just as obsolete. No phone is or ever will be future proof.

I am currently using the G2X but I will be purchasing the Sensation or the SGSII in the near future and then giving the G2X to my wife. I have been leaning more towards the GSII because it is noticeably more snappier in the UI (TouchWiz is now less intrusive than Sense). SGSII has hardware accelerated browsing which is obviously faster in video comparisons. It seems that the Sensation hasn't sold a fraction of what the SGSII sold but there are a ton of major issues popping up with the Sensation. I like the looks of the Sensation better and I like the fact that it is made of aluminum but I would go with function over form any day of the week. The SGSII's display has superior daylight performance. The battery is obviously better in the SGSII. Lastly, the graphics performance of the SGSII is better than the Sensation. I am leaning more towards the GSII but my patience is wearing thin. I don't know if I can wait another 2 months for it to get in the states but unless HTC solves some of these major bugs, I think I can wait it out.
Yes. at stock the samsung galaxy is indeed the better choice. But honestly wait for HTC to work out the bugs on one of the most anticipated phones of 2011.. aside from that, once it's rooted and cyanogen gets it's hand on it and various other developers...it will only get better. I think ALOT of the Sensation's problems is mostly software based (aside from the so called death grip).. just my two cents.

Your right about that one. The sensation is not even being used to its max yet like the HD2 was and still is. Sensation will be making news even when ice cream comes out. Just my 2 cents!

I would go with Samsung in no time if SGS2 would be available on Tmo.
This I don't like on Sensation (so far):
Glass looks kind of plastic (compare it to Samsung or HD2)
Glass is curved therefore screen won't give you mirror clear look.
Back cover hard to open (but it might be just me). It also has too many things attached to. I like HD2 or Galaxy way.
LCD is not even close to super amoled screen as far as view quality.
Colors on Samsung are not beatable by Sensation.
Micro USB doesn't have small closing locker door like Galaxy has. It might get some dirt inside.
I preffer phone shape of Samsung or HD2 more than Sensation.
I still think that Sensation is great phone but I just didn't get excited when unpacking HTC Sensation.
Just my 2 cents.:D

i bought the SGS2 yesterday and didnt want to touch it at all so nothing would go wrong with it lol...but today i started playing with the phone and i was laying on the bed and had the phone in my hand...i went to stretch my arm quickly and my hand was kinda loose and the last thing i saw was the phone flying from my hand then sliding on the floor(ceramic)...I went crazy and after picking up the phone i went to clean it and remove all the dust and found a very very small scratched spot on the metallic frame which is hardly noticeable but still annoying to have..i thot bout returning it for another one but then i thot it would be a phobia lol and convinced myself tht sh** happens...tmr am going to get a pouch for it n hope it will keep scratches to a minimum...
