Hi,

Thank you very much. I’m not sure if it’s my phone, but I tried installing the HTC launcher (the version you mentioned) and it didn’t get installed... Do I really need to install a version of Sense Home to get the weather clock widget to work?

I also tried the HTC weather version you suggested, and it picked the current location but it didn’t get any weather data...

I installed the weather widget as an apk (my phone is not rooted), but clicking on the weather points to accuweather (not to the weather app).

The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that the clock on the widget gets stuck, and it seems that it only gets sync-ed if I sync the weather in the weather app (for a widget that points to the weather app, like 9.00.917592). This clock issue seems to be common for a number of weather clock versions I tried. What is strange is that if I click on the clock on the widget, it points to the HTC clock which always displays the correct time.

Fixing that, so the clock on the HTC weather clock widget shows the actual time would be absolutely fantastic.

Your advice is very much appreciated.

Yes you need sense home for htc widget clock to work correctly. Go to apk mirror website and search htc sense home. I'm using redmi k20 pro rooted with android 10. If your phone has older android version then use v9.** of sense home, widget clock & weather. You need to check and create combination of different versions yourself.

My Samsung phone runs Android 10. I've already tried a few combinations and they didn't work - as I said my main issue is with the time not being displayed correctly on the weather clock widget. I take it that you're not experiencing this time sync issue on your phone.
I also tried to install the HTC weather app available on the Play Store - that didn't work either...
But I'll try a more comprehensive approach and test more combinations.
I wish people that have newer HTC phones would upload newer versions of HTC weather clock widget, HTC weather and HTC Sense Home, maybe they'll work better

If i click on clock(in htc weather clock widget), it opens up my stock clock app(not installed htc clock). If i click on weather area, it opens up AccuWeather website. But its properly syncing with htc weather app, auto updates weather data after turning on data.
Earlier i was facing weather syncing & location issue but after placing htc weather clock widget apk in system/priv-app/ & changing permissions, its working fine now. Zero issue.

If you don't want to root your device then i suggest you to give location permission manually to all htc apps i.e sense home + weather app + widget.

There is a better way: You can re create any launcher. Total launcher is a fantastic launcher. It's something like a launcher to create launchers.. If i wanted to create Htc launcher exactly as it was, i could. I could use same png which it had, or create mine. I didn't wanted to do this, as modern phones have bigger screens so i wanted more icon for every line etc. But i created a theme for total launcher, inspired from htc launcher. I have link for the theme in my channel if anyone wants to install it to total launcher:
It's samsung s10 lite (snapdragon 855), Android 11. The png of the bar, are actually from original htc launcher. I extracted and use it.

Bro'.... it's dead since long time... HTC was a treasure but you still have some apps inspired by nostalgic of HTC experience.


For me it was the launcher the most biggest issue. I find Newsfeed Launcher, the son of HTC Sense Home.
About keybord if i remember, you can you use swipe and find a skin of HTC.

Thanks for reply. I know Sense is dead. I will look only to Sense Input because the software use (words prediction/suggested), not fot skin or look.
Is the only keyboard I'm feel good to use.
Time ago I find a modded version that I was able to use with crDrdroid 7.5 (Android 11 based) but, since I upgrade to 8.6 (Android 12) I cannot install it because some incompatibility error. That's why I would ask if any chance to make it run on A12 phones.
For the moment I'm using FlorisBoard from F-Droid but cannot say how prediction works because is disabled due to an issue in this version.

You should provide more info otherwise is impossibile to users to give help. What phone you have? Android version? Rooted? Stock or custom rom? Etc...

Don't hope.. I have tried everything, every app in playstore, hacked apps from original htc rom from xda, there isn't anything. As you say very poor copied, without the movements, the fog kr sun that was playing when you open the phone etc. I know what you wanted because i also wanted it. It's really strange that 10 years ago some apps were better.
The most close to original sense clock, i had done it some months ago by using original hacked clock, and another app (similar of htc from playstore but stopped developing years ago, i found the apk somewhere). I then used a tasker script and run the weather efect every time phone was unlocked. It got very close to htc style but it's a hack solution, it's not for everyone and i don't have it right now. I had also created a htc theme like with total launcher. I didn't want it to become exactly the same. If i wanted with total launcher i can create exactly the same launcher. The launcher i still use it. I havs a video here if anyone what's to see it, and I also have link for the theme there. Some bars are from original apk of htc launcher. You can modify the theme to make it exactly like htc if you learn total launcher use.

You can get sense 9.0 weather clock widget and the weather apk . But no animation on the application..

I got it on android 12 on my Find x 3 pro
