I've been looking for a way to root this old Wildfire for months, since anything else seemed to have failed.

Do you have any prove that it's working for Wildfire?

I did root on my old Wildfire with revolutionary in April last year. Worked fine for me.

Does it also provide the possibility to un-root and to put S-OFF back to S-ON?
Might be a great help when ICS comes via OTA to go back to stock then.

S-off didnt work. Used revulutionary to gain s-off and super tool to root, instead of flashing su. De-sense and re-sense worked like a charm.

This utility is only partially unlocked bootloader. I can install other versions of ROMs, but I can not install other versions of the radio.
Tell me how to get the full S-off on my Sensasion XE (GB T-mobile)? http://revolutionary.io/ - does not work for my phone. The information from this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22940696&postcount=16) has not helped.

Sorry to inform all the avid HTC Buzz fans out there that I have tried this method with both hboots, with no luck. But rest assured we still have Revolutionary that works 100% on hboot 1.01.0001

I apologize if this is already answered but trawling through all the threads with a small screen using tapatalk is giving me a huge headache. I just want to root my phone and get rid of all the bloatware and possibly sense, I've read loads of threads and it seems there are numerous methods to achieve this but I'm very new to Android and I can't live with a brick even for a day. I would be grateful if someone could give me a straight answer
[edit] bit of faffing but had to do the s-off manually, rest of it was a breeze.

OK on Legend !

I was looking to root my Legend locked SFR France (the red one), and there was no way to do it. Now with the tutorial HTC DEV and HTC Supertools, everythings ok ! Hboot unlocked, Legend Rooted, CyanogenMod ok.

The only thing I cannot do is "unsimlock" the phone. I didn't lock the hboot after the root. Does my probleme come from this ? Hboot has to be locked again to "un simlock" the phone ? (unsilock didn't work with the code sent by sfr....) I did this operation with the sfr simcard inserted. May I do it again with another operator simcard ?
