N1 Outlook Sync

I use Google Calendar Sync for the calendar and it works fine. The Outlook contacts has considerable more info than Google contacts, so does not carry over. I use Sys Tools vCard export and export on vCard for all contacts to the N!. Then import the vCard file. When the N1 backs up your contacts to the SD card it is essentially a single vCard format.

I'll give the HTC Sync a try. Earlier versions did not work.

I can't get it to work.

I fail to get the HTC Sync to work on the N1 too. The people at macado had a rooted version I think.

For those of you in a corp environment, with access via wifi, its possible via active sync. First connect to wifi using LAN credentials. Then open your outlook, jump into mail account options and grab the exchange server and domain details. Setup a new active sync mail account while connected to wifi. You may need to play around with the domain URL. I.e. <domain> might be domain.corp.companyname.com

Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App

HTC Sync is not a good choice. It had many bugs and still does.

I've tried using the latest version and noticed that it breaks HTC's own speed dial. It turns out that it stuffs up some internal contact ID and by doing that it breaks apps that rely on it (Contact's LookupKey).

I had a very good experience with MyPhoneExplorer. It syncs contacts, calendar, SMS, call log and even files. It uses usb or WiFi. It is very popular so I'm surprised the name hasn't come up here yet.

Try it...

BTW I've contacted HTC about this bug with all the tech details. After much nagging they agreed to pass the info on to the developers. We'll see if this bug is corrected in the next release...

sync android htc with outlook

try "local sync" - available on android market and on author's website psencik(dot)cz or seach google for "local sync". works ok through wifi or usb. syncs what is selected - contacts, calendar(s), categories, notes, files, pics...
