ok all,

i really dinged the case on my titan so got a nice fresh one from ebay for christmas. looking at all the lovely colour phones that htc is currently producing got me thinking..... so i lightly sanded out the dings, gave the whole case a little rub over, attached it to a coat hanger and covered over the antennae contacts with tape. 8 or 9 light coats of metallic red car paint from halfords and the case looks fantastic. the worst ding is just about visble but the rest is good as new, if not better! just going to let it dry for 24 hours now and then test it for signal etc. i'm hoping the metallic paint won't affect things too much because it looks great :) couple of early pics attached. will post some more when it's dry and i can put the phone in it...

looks nice!

I wonder if car paint would hold up and not chip away after being exposed for awhile? Anybody have any thoughts on this...as I might try this as well.

If you carefully sand whatever it is you're using it will provide a way for what you are to use to stick; I realize this isn't the same but I do this with PVC; otherwise there's nothing for the paint to "grip" to; think of it as why road pavers scrape the grooves in the old road before applying the new asphalt down; same thing.

interesting...thanks for the info! I will probably do a custom paint job later on down the road.
