Just got my Sensation back from rapair for sensor and earpiece problems, they just did a handset swap, interesting thing is the bootloader is officially ***LOCKED*** but is also in S-Off?? Is this normal for a warranty (im assuming they're fact referb) to come back S-Off?

I had to do 2 different warranty swaps, both came back locked and s-on. Think you just got lucky on the s-off. Get 4 ext on, enable smart flash and try an updated user friendly firmware. Not sure if it will work but if it does you should be unlocked and s-off.

No smartflash.. Smartflash is not for him.. It's for people with SON and htcdev unlocked bootloader

To the OP.. Just flash jb hboot via fastboot

Get the pyramid ics from
http://unlimited.io /hboot-downloads/

Also the flashing instructions/commands were given in the same site

Once flashed come back to bootloader using
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Then 4EXT recovery then rom

How does upgarding to TMOUS OTA ICS effect S-OFF procedure? I have a stock S-ON Sensation. Want to upgrade to ICS. have not done so yet. If I do the OTA upgarde will I not be able to S-OFF after?

Really I just want the camera mod ( NODO GT ). Is there no way to get the camera mod on stock rom?

yes SOFF is possible once upgraded but its a tedious process ..but doing SOFF while in GB is a piece of cake (revolutionary) look here and check the section "soff for HBOOT <= 1.18"

then just upgrade to any ICS custom rom (ARHD has the mod inbuilt and is pretty close to stock ..with lot of performance enhancement)
