Hi there ,
Just wanted to give people heads up on a conversation I had with huawei mobile on Facebook today about warranty in the uk .
As we know the mate 20 pro should have 2 years warranty , so every mate 20 pro should have over a years warranty left minimum
Someone in my family is looking at new phones so I suggested the mate 20 pro from eBay at a good price so they contacted huawei and asked about the warranty just to be safe
To my amazement , huawei have said they will not honour any warranty on any phone if they don’t have the original paperwork because apparently they can’t tell if it’s still in warranty
It was then mentioned to them that every huawei phone has hi care and they know exactly when each handset was activated and when the warranty runs out and that phones released less than two years ago should still be covered under their warranty
Is it just me or is this pretty bad? Surely a company should uphold the warranty of a device if it is still in warranty? It could have been a gift? You may have lost the receipt? Yet even if the phone warranty checking app built by the manufacturer themselves says it’s in warranty huawei aren’t going to honour that warranty
There are loads of phones being sold on eBay at the minute , lots without the original paperwork and huawei are not going to honour their warranty on them which in my opinion sucks , I mean can they even do that legally?
