Nope, DEMO devices can't be updated to EMUI 10 using any method and in case of softbrick you can't revive it without having to change the motherboard (~300$ depending on location or luck ?).

hi team thanks for all the effort put into this site its a great resource,im new to this site and still navigating thru the forums trying to find what i need but not having much luck ,ive softbricked a p30 pro trying to install firmware without knowing the correct specs , fastboot tells me i need c636. my details are as follows ,ill pay someone if they can point me in the right direction for the download on this site ,
vOG-L09 9.1.0.193 (C636E4R2P2)
im guessing this is the file needed for flashing .im fine with the flashing proceedure i just cant locate the firmware file

Wifi-calling help!

Hi! I have a question: I have build 10.0.0.168 on a VOG-L29. I'm trying to update to 10.1 so that I can receive the new wifi-calling feature. Do you know if this is possible, or how to enable wifi-calling without updating? I read that the last security update enables the wifi-calling feature, but I haven't received any update. Happy new year indeed. I finally unbricked my phone after checking other XDA threads related to softbrick. I found my answer at this thread.

We all know that the reason for softbrick is that the firmware does not match the phone original region/vendor/country. For many of you, you need to second-guess the true region/vendor/country of the phone.

But from this post, it seems that only the base file is installed (EMUI 10), while the cust and preload files failed to install (remains EMUI 9.1), as this post suggested:

And after reading further, it seems the simple fix is to rename the cust and preload file to match the phone region:

The next question is: what is your phone's region/vendor/country? Instead of trial-and-error, I use fastboot to check my phone. My result:

c:\adb>fastboot getvar vendorcountry
vendorcountry: normal/hw

So, what I did was to copy the 3 dload files to the sd card formatted to exFAT, and rename the 2 files.

From
update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_xx_yyyyyy
update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_xx_yyyyyy_R1

To
update_sd_cust_VOG-L29_hw_normal
update_sd_preload_VOG-L29_hw_normal_R1

I was pleasantly surprised that it works. But in my case, there is this notification on the dropdown that says I am using an unofficial version. The firmware I used to install is L29 10.0.0.173 (C431E19).

What's next is that according to @oslo83 the cust and preload need to be corrected, but I'm not sure what if I don't correct it. Guess I will only find out next year.

NO, stay on Android 9.1, if you haven't flashed allready EMUI 10 or EMUI 10.1 and got softbrick!

Demo units haven't received any update since EMUI 9.1 & users who flashed C431/C432 dload firmwares got softbricked with no free way (some of them paid for motherboard replace or sold their units) to revive their demo units!

No result 'till now using any firmware available in order to revive demo units which are softbricked because of flashing C431/C432 EMUI 10 dload firmware on top of WEC891 demo firmware.
You'll need to wait for next C432 firmware release in order to test it or for a proper WEC891E3R1P5 dload firmware in order to revive your unit

Nope, no hope with a demo dload firmware release. Also received your PM, sry but there's no way to get back once you flashed an EMUI 10 dload firmware.

There was a firmware on a paid site, one user downloaded it to use in order to revive his softbricked demo unit, but it didn't worked out, as you can read on bellow page...

Hey there,
i've tried to replace the screen on several p30 pro devices (device has been working before). Unfortunately i allways run into the same problem: After reassambling the phone is stuck at huawei Logo, EMUI erecovery shows the retrieving package inforation failed. Trying the old display doesnt work either, same result. I've tried to replace the screen very carefully, i'm an experienced phone repairer so i think, that there is nothing damaged...Did anyone experience the same? Could it be possible, that this is caused by not changing the heatpaste? Or is it possible that the device has been bricked by using a third party screen? thanks for your help
