Good news for Android Q update perhaps ... https://www.techradar.com/au/news/h...ted-but-its-still-not-good-news-for-the-brand
But it will be all right for the next two year. It will be just stuck at the present main revision.Uhh... It's "just a phone" that I happened to be locked into a 2 year, $130 a month plan with. Maybe that is chump change to you, but it is a long term investment for me.
Very good news indeed. With this delay Huawei will be able to roll out Android Q / EMUI 10 to its flagship devices on the same day Google releases it to the public:Good news for Android Q update perhaps ... https://www.techradar.com/au/news/h...ted-but-its-still-not-good-news-for-the-brand
You forget what stands just below the Honor label on every honor phone, correct, Huawei Technologies ....All they need to do is rebrand everything under the Honor label. The oompa loompa will be blissfully unaware and that annoying "Hawaii" company will look as though it's no longer a thorn in Apple's side.
Are 90 days enough to roll out android Q? I doubt they will have it ready by August 21stVery good news indeed. With this delay Huawei will be able to roll out Android Q / EMUI 10 to its flagship devices on the same day Google releases it to the public:

This means that the Mate 20 series, the P30 series, the Honor 20 series and Honor V20 will receive Android Q as an official update after all. Nothing to worry about for us, except maybe missing out on Android R in a year from now. Security updates and bug fixes will continue rolling out even after Huawei loses their Google license because they don't require a full OTA.
August 19th this year is on a Monday and all previous Android versions have released on a Monday in August. Android N was released on Monday, August 22nd. Android O was released on Monday, August 21st. Android P was released on Monday, August 6th. Huawei will make it in time as long as they have help from Google over the summer.
Conspiracy theory: Maybe Huawei will rush the release of the Mate 30 series to be in August so they can ship it to European countries with Google Play Services installed. The official launch is supposed to be in late September, but with a lot of hurry they can maybe be ready to unveil the device in August. It's the only way the device could come on sale outside of China.
I agree but I don't see the prices going down on the Apple or Samsung phones, more like Huawei adjusting their price upwards.Ehm, competition is good for customers. If they again bring all customers back to Samsung/Apple, we end up suffering from high prices. Honestly, newest model rance P30 have quite competitive pricing. I mean, look at P30 Lite, this is beast for the price.
Well, maybe I'll get a P20 pro for $50 ...For sure it will impact non China sales (about 47% of Huawei phones sold) personally this mate 20 pro is my first and probably last Huawei..... Love the phone...... Bootloader and now this google stuff is the nail in the coffin unless they sort both
