I had the Huawei for about a year and got the Pixel 2 XL a few weeks ago on a great deal only to join my wife's Project Fi plan. There is another discussion on why i did this all, but not really relevant here.
So my opinion is, Huawei has the best of Hardware Android phones hands down. The camera, the screen, the BATTERY, it's truly phenomenal. The con is the software. I think Huawei even said they would update the Mate 10 to 8.1 and 9.0, and a year later that never happened.
But I am not sure that really matters. I pick up my Pixel every day and I like it, but the screen feels way too small even though the Mate 10 is basically the same size of a phone and even though slightly heavier, a way better battery to boot. Kind of literally. Not to mention the whites on the Mate are so so so much better.
Idon't know what to do. Why can't Google just use Pure Android with the Mate series?? I could get my money back on the Pixel, but I also don't really think the Mate adheres to honesty when it comes to Android software. Which is weird, since they partnered with Google to make the 6p. What would you do? Have you owned both?
