I wonder if this breaks Google pay & Device Certified I updated to .187 but pay won't work and play store say it's not certified yet working ok.

If .206 works I'll update, if not I will hold off and see what happens with optus, I have a manager contact me today from a online complaint, he is chasing up the software testing team and will contact me by the end of today regardless of if anything had been found out. And he has committed to sorting through the firmware issue as a priority. And promised to keep me updated.

Just had a reply from an Optus Customer Support Manager, he's not very happy with the response he received from the Tech Team, and has escalated the request for information, but according to the blog he said he is not happy with the status saying current firmware version 9.0.0.126 when it is .122

It also seems apparent that .188 is not even with Optus for testing, his information is that they are still working with Huawei to obtain it.

He will be chasing up Monday and updating me on the finding. And working out what or who needs to step in to get firmware released.

So this is the one that is on their website that is currently in testing expected to be finished by yesterday ?

Yes, I'd like to know who at optus provide the information contained in these blogs because I think they are high on illegal substances.

.146 according to the information provided in the blog was completed testing, why did it take 2 months to test and wouldn't they have found that it's wasn't suitable for optus long before testing was completed?

Forgive me for thinking that the whole situation is just one big cover up for optus because they don't want to provide us with the updates for Huawei anymore. Maybe older models like the Mate 9 and 10 are still under agreement, but not for the Mate 20 Pro.

I used the website complaint form and asked for someone with high authority to sort this out urgently. This is the guy who responded and seems very decent.

Yes I reckon that would be great, I think if he's getting a few complaints he'll take it very seriously. But at least he calls me at the end of the day even if he's not got any news, it's good to know he's not ignoring it like those nonces on the yescrowd, who just said we can't update you because we only get told every 2 weeks. They are a communication company yet don't know how to use a phone to ring the technical department and ask what is happening.

I have just received a call from Cliff at Optus who has taken over my case and he has finally received an answer from the technical department, he said that he shouldn't be mentioning to me this information but .188 firmware is again incompatible and it's the Wifi calling that is failing on every firmware, they don't know if it's optus network or the firmware causing the issue and have raised an investigation with Huawei. So at this point there is going to be no firmware update until they can fix this issue.

He has agreed to contact me every Monday with an update.

Sounds like a whole lot of rubbish to me.

People have updated to version .206 on here are having no network issues, ok they might not be using the WiFi calls but Google pay is working. I will be doing the same tonight. I've had enough of this from optus.

I am on .206 and living without WiFi calling just fine and since that method still keeps you on c34 so you can always restore back to optus ... if they ever get their act together

Yeah 5 months behind on security patches and missing out on updated features because its an optus branded mate20pro makes it really hard for me to trust Optus customer service and their so called 'android firmware testing team' or their 'yescrowd android update poster'.

Really I don't see what kind of benefits WiFi calling would have, unless you are at home or someone else's house or in an office or public WiFi hotspot and you have poor quality reception from your phone radio. The likelihood of getting a decent data allowance or signal strength on a public WiFi hotspot would usually be crap anyway.

If you have a crappy signal strength from the phone then WiFi calling through the data is going to be useless because you would also have a crappy data connection probably H+ or less.

So really it's just a gimmick, an extra setting that is pointless for the most part.

So who has updated to 206? Verdict? Most importantly does google pay work? Ive seen a couple say yes but that was the case with other previous firmware, it worked for some but not others.

Yes yescrowd forum admin are docile, they said "we only get an update from the technical department every 2 weeks so we can't provide update information until we get it" have they no clue how to use a phone, call the technical department and ask what the status is? Wow that's a big job it could take them a whole 5 minutes off their daily schedule, which is probably all sat in the lunch room playing strip poker.
