Anyone please? I need to make wifi calling work. Not sure if I can flash rogers firmware on dual sim variant.
I don't think you can, and even if you could, as far as I know the wifi calling and VolTe (HD calling) is enabled in Rogers network after an IMEI check only. It means, if your IMEI is not in Rogers' "whitelist" database, i.e. your phone was not sold by Rogers, the VolTe and WiFi calling features will be disabled quickly after registering on Rogers network, despite of using a valid Rogers SIM.

The good news is that there are tons of WiFi calling apps and services available. Just google for "free wifi calling".

Just out of curiosity, what is your phone's region? (The one letter and three digits after the EMUI version). If it is Chinese, there is a chance that your phone's hardware is significantly different from the other dual SIM models.

Thanks for the reply. I had note 9 that was purchased from Samsung Store, and a pixel 2 purchased from google store. In both the wifi calling worked. Rogers would brand it as rogers phone as soon as sim was inserted. For this phone, Rogers is not doing it for some reason.

See attached for my region. What does this tells you?

"I had note 9 that was purchased from Samsung Store, and a pixel 2 purchased from google store" - interesting. I haven't had such luck with Rogers SIM. How about the VolTE / HD calling on your Note 9 and Mate 20 Pro phones on Rogers network?

Your Mate 20 Pro appears to be exactly as mine: Asian/Global Dual SIM. My curent version is: 9.0.0.183(C626E10R3P2). current patch package: patch05

Exactly same... Did you buy from Rogers??? Yes. VOLTE AND HD calling worked on all phones, including mate 20 pro.

Got 193 on Videotron yesterday, not sure why it's 327MB when it only contains Security Updates. Others have reported <190MB for the sec updates.
VoLTE working since 182, but NOT VoWiFi - and my Mobile settings menu looks a bit different.

That's REALLY interesting. I didn't know Rogers carries dual SIM variant of the Mate 20 Pro, (LYA-L29, C636 variant).

The other thing is that enabling VoLTE in network settings does not necessarily mean your phone can use it on Rogers network.

As I have another Mate 20 Pro (single SIM) that I purchased from Rogers, I know the difference between the two.

When I put in my Rogers SIM into the phone that I purchased from Rogers, the VoLTE icon appears in the top left corner. If I switch the SIM to my non-Rogers dual SIM phone, it keeps the VoLTE service alive for about an hour or so, and then the VoLTE icon disappears, along with the service.

In case you don't have a VoLTE / HD icon... You would notice the existence of the VoLTE service by monitoring the network connection type. Say, you are on LTE+, or LTE. If you initiate a call, AND your VoLTE works, it will keep the LTE connection that was on your display before the call. If your VoLTE doesn't work (despite enabled), your network connection will fall back from LTE to 4G during the call.
Again, enabling VoLTE doesn't necessarily allows your phone use Rogers' VoLTE feature.

You are correct, as soon as I make a call, LTE+ icon falls back to 4G or 3G. Well, i bought this phone from HK, not from rogers. Does your Rogers single sim phone identifies Caller IDs on the default huawei phone App???

Yes, both of my Mate 20 Pros identifies caller IDs.
Caller ID = Not from phone book, but from the network.

Even the one with Dual Sim? I am sure this not purchased from Rogers,.correct? Does the dual sim support wifi calling? Mine doesn't. I have installed google dialer for the Caller ID function to work.

I will have to check the WiFi calling on my single SIM phone that I purchased from Rogers. I will get back to you on this over the weekend.
How about wifi calling on dual sim version? Rogers say that they don't see my device as Huawei mate 20 pro hence wifi calling doesn't work. Huawei is of no help.
