How did you enable icon packs for the stock launcher? Through the themes app somehow?
The just use the app in the picture it's called themes for Huawei and Honor. Convert icon pack in settings and it will become available in the me section of the actual theme app.

My phone's starting to show green on both sides. Returning it tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get a replacement or just get my money back and order the X. But spending $1468 on this I can't accept this.

My phone's starting to show green on both sides. Returning it tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get a replacement or just get my money back and order the X. But spending $1468 on this I can't accept this.
What's the procedure for this. Do you just bring it to the store? I'm thinking if I should go too. Faint green edges when at less than 15% brightness in darkness

I'm just going to take the phone with all the accessories back to Bell World tomorrow with the receipt and get a refund. If they demand the watch back, so be it but I would be a fool to allow this to reach the 14 day mark which is past the point of no return. Just gonna cut my losses I think. I don't think I'm going to get a replacement now to be honest. Realistically it will be from the same batch and idk if I'll be able to return it too or they say too bad i'm past 14 days. I may just order in a V40 from B&O when they get more in stock. They're selling it for around $750 usd and it has a very nice camera and no green screen issues. Sorry guys I was really looking forward to theming this phone and had already started a theme but for this amount of money I can't sit and hope I get a good replacement. Chances are I won't and I really think that if it goes green I won't be able to return it because I'd be past the 14 days of purchase. I'm not willing to chance it

I can't blame you for your actions, but just know that many of us are really disappointed, I should say sad really. I was looking forward to your work. Thanks for trying and I agree with your sentiments - dealing with our carriers and returns after the 14 days period is honestly a sh!t show.

Let us know how it goes tomorrow if you don't mind, I am praying that Bell sways you will something... [emoji41]

The green is probably from the fact that there's curved screen on the mate 20 pro. Coming from a V30, I can almost guarantee you won't be happy with a v40 based on their OLED technology. It does suck that Huawei doesn't give access to unlocking the bootloader though so if you're in it for themeing and customization I guess anything is better than this. Good luck mate.

So I got a full refund from Bell today. It took a bit because since I bought it outright the system apparently got confused and thought I was over the 14 day return window which I wasn't. She had to call their office and get them to authorize it but it did happen.
I think I'm going to wait and see if a new batch comes out where the issue is corrected if I can wait, or if I get antsy I'll buy something else

Yeah me too man. It was very hard to put it back in the box. But I wanted to cut my losses because it would only get worse.
Netflix is a good app to check for light bleed. Like if you pull up a season of a show and scroll down the action bar should be a solid color. The light bleed was really obvious on it everywhere and made me start examining things.

ok, so when I went there yesterday Bell staff said to me that sorry stock didn't come today.we will call you right away when we will get it. Fortunately, they called me today that we have a fresh one available so I hurried through my work and went there in the evening. they replaced it. even before adding anything I downloaded the "device info HW" in front of them and LOL :laugh: it was again an LG one. I said that this is again an LG one so as long as it doesn't show any issue I will keep it but any issue occurs..and then the staff said since it is a manufacturing issue this time it will go directly to Huawei service centre. But since Huawei can just say that this is how they intended it to be..DUH..!!
I won't even send this and just return it to Bell and get over with this mess.
I was planning to wait for the Galaxy S10 anyway

and yeah even this one is showing the green tint issue on the same day LOL :laugh: didn't even took hours..
though this time the tint is far less and much bearable but I won't take my chances
thank god it wasn't launched in the USA

Just got my replacement device from bell and apparently it's been very common. All stores are out of stock now and it was a hassle just to get this replacement device. Still an LG screen but hopefully it wont happen again.

I debated it but I really didn't enjoy making substratum themes at all. And that's the only theme system that can be used on it.
I have a Pixel 3 and I barely even touch it. The Mate 20 pro is still a more enticing device. To be honest I still think about my note 9 every now and then. Have you considered it for yourself?

So we haven't come across any Canadian model (LYA L0C) with a BOE screen, is that correct?
I have one, ordered from Videotron in Montreal. Green glow on the edges with low brightness. It's not terrible, but definitely noticeable at night. I can still return it and swap it for another model. I really wanted to keep this phone, but it seems like my chances of getting a good screen if I ask for a replacement are pretty low. Videotron Montreal doesn't seem to be very aware of the problem yet. Are there any good Canadian phones around? I am starting to think about getting an iPhone, but its a shame, I really like the M20P's camera!

So these are the answers I got from Videotron and Huawei Mobile (I asked about new batches, BOE and LG screens, extent of the problem in Canada, stuff like that) :

Videotron:

1- You're only eligible to one 30 days satisfaction per line. However, your device is still eligible to 1 year waranty by the manufacturer starting from the initial purchase's date.
2- Information not available
3- Not possible to validate if it's an LG screen or BOE screen.
4- A rare case I would say.
5- We contact the manufacturer if we need their support but for this rare case, we didn't submit any yet.
