Curiosity has the better of me. I have two Mate 20 x EVR-L29 phones. The first one has Funky Huawei's most recent 9.0 firmware. The second one has always relied on Huawei OTA updates. By switching regions in HiCare to Singapore the second one updated to 9.1 right away. I cannot get the first one to find the update by switching regions. Any thoughts? With my Mate 8 on EMUI 8 I could just place the update.zip file in the dload folder and update that way, but I don't have a dload folder on my phone. I have unlocked the phone but have not rooted.

Hi there
I tried every way to get updates in India as I'm using Chinese version of Mate x
But didn't succeed to get any updates yet
I'm on 9.0.1.120
I tried to change country in Hicare app but still no success in india
Anyone from India ?
Or any another way to get updates?

Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app

The sound is the same i believe, but I've made a factory reset so that might helped
Definitely isn't, on my hand set at least. Not anywhere close as far as the lower range goes at least.

Playing clash of Clans for instance, on 9.0 on volume level 1, it was actually loud enough where it would be impossible to play media discretely if anyone was close to you. Now on 9.1, no volume whatsoever on level 1 or 2 and barely anything at all on 3. I'd say even level 4 is still quieter on 9.1 than level 1 on 9.0 was. Try it and see.

Yeah, I agree. Just feels like the same phone I had a couple of days ago, except now I have a more useable AOD. I'm not complaining though. Glad to get the update.

I haven't noticed any bugs or issues either.

Good evening, You must download the Dload files available on # 194 (only if you are in C636) and copy the entire Dload file to a USB key or nm card. Using an OTG cable or adapter, enter the project menu by typing: Dial * # * # 2846579 # * # * from the phone dialer app. Software upgrade The phone will restart and the installation will begin. On the other hand did a reset, so plan to make a backup via Google account and hisuite before starting ... ;)

No issues either. No random reboots I get 4G+ signal also volume is the same. I always wonder in all the years I have been here why user experience varies so much. There has to be contributing personal factors to this. The base as it is works just fine and phone is quicker and feels more refined. Defo worth the upgrade
