I'm updating to B177 through FF as we speak.

Edit: yeah strike that, just got the message that the update is unauthorized..
Me too I can see B177 as being available in Firmware Finder but the update is also unauthorized.

In the past I noticed that updates show up in Firmware Finder and become available a couple of days later.

My advice is to keep on checking.

I see VKY-AL00 8.0.0.310 (C00), VKY-TL00 8.0.0.310 (C00) listed on FF website : is that the Oreo beta firmware ?
Yes it is. Hopefully by Jan 2018, we might get an Oreo update.

Unsupported Andorid O Beta VKY-L29 8.0.0.306(C900log)
Unsupported Andorid O Beta VTR-L29 8.0.0.306(C900log)

B152 just popped up as a system update (oddly still not authorised in firmware finder) looks like a security update (Nov 17) and not much else

on my Huawei p10 plus I'm seeing B177 a latest firmware in firmware finder. So B177 could most likely have December Security patch, while B154 has another older security patch.

For what its worth - I had converted from (Canadian) L09 to L29 to AL00 using HWOTA, then installed the Oreo firmware from FF.

NOT WORTH IT.

Changes partition names, TWRP doesn't work properly and going back to stock EMUI 5 1/Nougat is almost impossible. Hard-Bricked a phone trying (boot loop, no fastboot/recovery access), not sure what happened but thankfully Huawei was understanding and replaced it for me. Don't think it was a rookie mistake as I've been flashing and modding since the Desire Z days...

I would HIGHLY advise waiting for official Oreo and a TWRP that's compatible.

How did you tried to rollback to Nougat?

Found a forum with the Mate 9 Oreo TWRP and HWOTA8, tried using those but things didn't go well although others reported that TWRP worked. At the very least, I noticed it couldn't get r/w access to data, even after formatting. There was no official TWRP for the VKY, and normal HWOTA doesn't work with Oreo. One reason I noticed was the partitions being renamed - ie. recovery becomes recovery-ramdisk for flashing purposes. I don't have enough experience tampering with the scripts to point it to different files, if that would even work.

It was all a bit strange, and felt like a one-way street. With the official update around the corner, it's really not worth risking a brick IMHO.

I am starting to notice, huawei only gives priority to phones which are also sell in europe and america. Noticed that mate 9/honor series which are globally available, they push oreo update faster. p10/plus unlike mate 9 which are not selling officially selling in america or some parts of europe, update is really slow.

I agree... I guess its a marking issue... They focus on some models rather than the others

Unfortunately, I agree with you.
And that seems logical from a minimal effort standpoint, you reach most of your customers with less effort.
But I don't like it.
They should either support well all their customers (at very least the high end models) or just make less models. :/

Yes. at least they should give same priority updates regardless of the region, at least for their flagship series like p10/p10 plus and mate 9

Does anybody has a VKY-AL00 version here? I'm constantly getting "Sorry, quota has been filled up" when I'm trying to update:) When they will add more to the quota?
