Will there be another otg cable download for emui 10. A new build maybe? Then only have to update once instead of going back to emui 9 and then back to 10? Like won't 10.0.0.173 be uploaded so I can put it on my USB?

ATM no, for v173 wasn't released and it won't ve released, because in December they will release the final version for EMUI 10, maybe v10.0.0.200 only one was v168.

NO, it won't. It's like an OTA update. Only dload method will erase your data.

As per my oppinion, you can stay on v168. I don't see any differences between v168 and v173.

As for battery, after Factory Reset battery on v173 is as same on v168. So if you don't get it through OTA, HiSuite or eRecovery, stay on v168 and wait for next release, which will be the stable one and the one released to all users

I just got it! Switched my location from Montenegro to China in settings (Hicare) and it gave me an update from .240 to version 10.0.0.173. It was 4.45 gb.

Tried this, unfortunately, that method doesn't working for me…

Hi all,
Branded SFR France and running. 240 with Altice (provider) overlay.
Changed my sim card using my wife s on which is Orange France.
Unistalled HiCare and reinstalled it.
Check for update and Boum!!!
10.0.0.173 downloaded with Altice 10.0.0.4 in the same time (keeping the Orange sim inserted).
Let the upgrade to EMUI10, let it settle for a while.
Shutdown and switched back to my SFR France sim card.
Restart and everything is perfect even the VoWifi and Volte.
Banks apps OK.

With regards to battery, I received .173 update this time yesterday, and today the battery drain is pretty much as it was before the update. Considering this is the first day, then I've reason to believe it's gonna get a lot better once the optimisation has settled, which will confirm the previous claims of great SOT.

)))) that's life at 37 with 2 kids, my wife and rest of my familly, an IT office & work from home job, allways connected (less when driving but got a big display on my car to see the notifications i get from who's needing me ) and glad to help everyone @ here by sharing my knowledge when and if i can .

Right now i'm at the mountains, recharching my Duracell batteries and watching my kids playing in snow
