I installed and it refused to boot....uuuffff! Had a hell of time to flash back to L19
Thought you were on AL00 not L19? Maybe that's why it didn't work.

did you upgrade to android nougat and flash? i was on android nougat b377 and dirty flashed kangvip rom. it worked.
Agreed, must flash stock nougat first before any custom rom. What version of the P9 are you using by the way?

Apologies if I'm preempting the dev posting here but V7 now available here ... http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/huawei-p9-rom-6-0-newworld-7-by-tecalote.799824/

Downloaded it but haven't had time to try it myself yet, but if it's as good as 6.6 is then it's worth installing

If you're coming from stock marshmallow, you must be on at least b182.

I have an issue of email n whatsapp notifications not working properly. Can we disable the permissions manager completely?
I got it fixed.
Using Nova Launcher and when you use the "unread app badge" feature it lets you install "TeslaUnread plugin"
When you activate Whatsapp in TeslaUnread, the Huawei phone asked for extra Whatsapp permissions (don't remember what).
Strangly it works after this "solution" .
You don't hear me complaining :D

Hope you van find some time to able screen on and notifications when locked with encryption, that would be awsome!

My issue is, I cannot install apk file, although I checked "unknown sources". When I tap on the apk file, nothing happend.

Do you have any solution?

Is there any way to uninstall exposed framework and reinstall? I would like to install snapchat.
Flash Xposed Uninstaller zip for your device with TWRP (reboot 15 min)
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/uninstaller/xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm64.zip

Reinstall Xposed with K-Settings /Xposed Framework (Reboot 15 min)

Xposed Framework uninstall...
Forget to say: After flashing Xposed Uninstaller zip it is necessary to wipe Dalvik and Cache!!

Worked perfectly, but I can't reinstall it with K settings, button is not working. And when I try to flash it with TWRP I get an error that my system memory is full. Having problem with that memory for some time now but can't find a way to clear some space or make it bigger...

The system space is not more than 2 GB.
You can just backup your stuff
And after go to K-Settings /More Settings, /flash recovery /flash official Recovery
Download the official Firmware for your Device.
Unzipp it on PC.
Copy the unzipped update.app in a folder on your external SD.
The folder must have the name dload
After reboot device with 3 Button Method and let the EMUI Installing complete.
You are after on Stock. Boot into Stock recovery and make factory reset and wipe cache partition.

After you can reinstall this Rom or you use one of mine.
I have "Renovatio" based on European Firmware b182. (Android 6)
For this you must upgrade to the b182 first.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-huawei-p9-renovatio-t3593051

And I have also Nougat Rom "Magic-Rainbow"
More information in my Thread.
With my Android 7 Rom you can use also external SD like internal storage...

Push Notifications are working without converting Apps to system App

I've been using this ROM since forever ;) This is my first and only rom flashed on my P9. And I must admit it's stable and I didn't have any major issues with it and that's why I didn't upgrade or replace to something newer. However I upgraded my Moto G5 to 8.1 from 7 and I'm really impressed how fast system starts up now. So I decided to upgrade my P9 now even to latest NewWorld rom. But I'm a little bit confused right now. What should I do if want to flash a new custom rom while using NewWorld V4.1 currently ? Do I need to update EMUI (I'm on 4.1 atm) to 5 ? Or just download new rom 7.x or 8.x , gapps and flash via TWRP as usual ? For 8.x I need new TWRP with encryption support I guess but I already upgraded recovery. Even if I decide for Android 7.x - do I need any extra steps except usual TWRP flash procedure ? All ROM installation description say firmware update is required but I don't even know what firmware version I have because I got "fRomFuture" in the place of firmware....
Help ?! ;)

i wouldnt bother to put android 8. Its a bug fest and it wont work for daily use. Now back to the point...you will have to rollback (read the steps in the forum) and go official firmware and then go latest version. After that you have 2 choices only from custom firmwares. If i was you i would keep it for few weeks on official because anyway the device will take android O and then you decide :) Android O is customizing friendly so i assume we will all start making custom firmwares soon.

OK, so I need to flash back stock firmware then upgrade stock to latest and then go for custom. Thanks a lot! I'll take a look on Android O :)
One more question - how can I find out what was my stock firmware ? I've P9-EVA but as far as I know there is a lot of firmwares to this model

Your model number should be written on the back of your phone

No worries! Be aware that the current custom O version have much more % to mess your device and brick if you really dont know what you are doing....i would still suggest you to hold on :) But yeah good luck either way!

Apologies for being lame here but I'm still have some issue. Yesterday I needed 30min to unlock, root and upgrade my Moto G5 from stock 7 to custom 8.1 but Huawei seems to be completely different animal here.. As you advised I rolled back to stock B136. I've again unlocked OEM, install TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-0-eva from twrp.me) I want to upgrade for EMUI 5.x and Android 7 but from what I read I need to upgrade step by step ?? Like B136 to B166 and there another one ? wtf is going on here ? So I', currently on B136. I've checked using build-in updater if I'm out of date (of course I'm) but it says there is no updates.....
So what I need to do now to make this P9-EVA EMUI 5.x and Android 7 ???

EDIT: OK - I've read the whole upgrading thread and it seems like "Flash OEM info file for C432" solve the problem. After flashing C432 and rebooting an updater pop up and it let me update to 162 or 166 and now 182 update shows up ready to install. I think I got this now...
Wow.... Huawei upgrading policy is a bit mess comparing to Samsung or Motorola..

b136 is ancient build. Instead, rolling back to b182 (also MM) is just enough for debranding, fixing things, etc.

From c432 b182 (L09 or L19) you should immediately get OTA to b242 and after that in few hops to the latest available Nougat (eg b399 or b502 for L09 c432).
Only then you install TWRP but for Nougat (3.1.1-1 from oldDruid)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/twrp-t3565703
or even better its extended version from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-huawei-p9-magicrainbow-v4-t3759292

and then optionally go for rooting or custom ROMs.

If OTAs do not bring you to the latest N build, you can manually update by HWOTA - scroll to the post #3 in the 2nd link above

Yeah its not totally Huawei the problem. You see in UK for an example there are releases for Vodafone... But if Vodafone is jot bothered to customise the rom,or at least approves that its ok to be pushed nothing will happen. Im telling you this from my experience (working for huawei in my country which is very popular and yes EU country and no im currently working for multiple kernels so dont ask for any release day it differs from country to country) that some devices are not one way updated but some kind of two way updates. Huawei and then the inbetween (usually providers who wants specific bloatware for advertising reasons). So thats why you need to go c432 which is generic non branded/bloated firmware :)
