Hi, I think I'm ready to give Magic Rainbow a try, although I've been pretty happy with Renovatio. As was said here earlier, if I go back to stock and then from there upgrade to B385, I should be able to flash MR v2, right?

Also, the Rollback Package that you mentioned above, what is it and can you post a link? You mention in your MR v2 forum that the dload method will be removed soon. If I want to rollback in the future, will it still be possible?

Thanks! Great rom
Hello @tonyaross - You must decide. If you are happy with Renovatio, I don't know if you are happy with MagicRaibow v2.
Its a good Rom too and many things are better, but Battery Life is not so long as in Renovatio.
You have L19 C185 - for MagicRaibow v1 (based on b383) it was possible with Firmware b385 for your device.
But for MagicRaibow v2 you must update to b387 - it works only over this Firmware.
You can find the Link for b387 here (the only place where you can get it - cause it's already deleted on Huawei Server)
1) First you must uninstall Xposed Framework (from K-Settings /Xposed /install /confirm - only if you have it installed)
2) You must have Stock Recovery b182 installed. Are you on Classic Renovatio? Then you can flash Stock Recovery from K-Settings /more settings /flash recovery /flash official Recovery in seconds.
3) After you must perform Factoryreset and Wipe Cache Partition from Stock Recovery.
4) Then you must flash b182 Stock Firmware with dload method (unzipp update.zip on PC and copy update.app and Meta-Inf, if present into dload folder on external SD) and flash with Vol+ Vol - and Power Button.
5) SIM must inside phone. Do another factory reset on b182 and you should receive an OTA to Nougat and after the next OTA.
6) But finally you must flash with dload method b387 from Link above.
This is different to MM.
You must unzipp first update.zip and you must take only update.app and move it to dload folder.
7) After flashing this you must unzipp the update_data_full_hw.. .zip and copy the extracted files to dload folder (previous update.app must be deleted first)
Then you flash this.
Now you are on b387 and you can flash TWRP (looking first if Bootloader is unlocked) and doing the wipes I said in MagicRaibow Thread Post #1. Be careful with TWRP (vendor must be disabled in settings and also mount tab)
Finally flashing MagicRaibow v2

I hope it will be possible to downgrade in the future!
And using dload method for previous Firmwares.
But nobody can say it for sure at the moment.
I don't know if Huawei can change something in settings of current Firmware to disable dload method - or if this occur only on newer Firmwares than b390...

dload Method should work for all Firmwares until b386 - I'll test in next days.
But the Link from my last post - the Firmware you need is dead since yesterday.
Without this Firmware you cannot install Magic-Rainbow v2.
I have one User which had downloaded this Firmware last days @Kimo2014 - I asked him yesterday to upload this somewhere

Thank you for the info. I'll try to one more clean install of Renovatio because I now have problems with video recording and app permission settings. I hope this will solve the problem. I like the rom a lot and will stay with it as long as i can.

Could you also let everyone know once you discover that dload no longer works? Thx

I think dload works for all Firmwares until b386 or b390 - only up this Firmware probably not - we will see.

If I have time I make maybe another, newer Rom for Android 6, based on b210 (it should have long battery life) :)

Hi, above is your advice on saving battery life on p. 1, but I can't find these two in the settings. Could you tell me how to turn them off?
Does the settings not have a search function before K-Settings (I don't remember yet, because I am on Android 7)
VoLTE can be found in mobile settings. If your provider support, it saves battery if enabled. But if your provider doesn't support it waste battery.
NFC is under the point mobile settings in more

I'll do it - but please don't wait yet too much, because I am very busy this time (Job) but soon I get more time
I just found out that the camera recording problem is caused by the Google App, especially Google Assistant. If I use Titanium to freeze Google App, my camera can do recording; if I unfreeze Google App, the camera cannot record and has an error message. Is there a solution to this problem? Both Google App and camera are important and I can't disable one so that I can use the other. :(

I did the search in Settings, and there is no result. I also checked "More" under Settings, and NFC is not there. I googled online about this, and it looks like dual sim models do not have NFC, only single sim models support NFC. I'll take this as true, because if later on you find NFC somewhere in Settings, let me know. Thank you,

I will look for this special issue in next Android 6 Rom based on b210.
Maybe it's because Google App must be updated in system instead of data.
I keep it in my mind.
But I am wondering, because camera worked as it should before I released the Rom.
But I have not tested Google App in combination. I never use Google App, that's why.
Thanks for reporting!

Hello there , Sorry for Interrupting this thread but I am having some problems which I hope anyone would help me with .
I have an Huawei p9 EVA-L09 With a Custom Rom : Renovatio-v1-by-Tecalote And my problem is that I want to go back to Stock firmware .
I have tried the DLOAD method but I get and error Software Install Error
The update package does not exist.
Please download the package again.
I have used different EVA-L09 Firmware version
-B136 EVA L09C432B136
And I forgot the other one which still had the same problem as B136.
I have stock recovery and I also have uninstalled Exposed Framework and have cleared cache Reset/Factory , Redone the process and still unable to install the package.
I have tried Relocking the boot loader which maybe the problem but I have no clue on where or how to relock boot loader  , I hope there is a way to fix this Mind stressing problem , I am willing to revert back to stock and upgrade to nougat Hopefully , Thanks a lot to the owner of this thread! And will be much appreciated to anyone who will help me find my solution :').

Hello :)
Bootloader can be unlocked - you should not relock.
If you have Stock Recovery, Xposed uninstalled, dload method should work.
Have you unzipped the update.zip?
In the folder dload should only copied the UPDATE.APP and Meta-Inf (if its in the update.zip)
And you should do it with 3 Button Method.
You need Firmware b182 - Full Version.

There's a Download Link on this Site (official mirror)

New rom b210

If I have time I make maybe another, newer Rom for Android 6, based on b210 (it should have long battery life) :)
If you make new rom, please make ROG function compatible with ksettings, it very noticeable with battery life. New world had less battery drain just because I had rog active all time.
Otherwise great ROM, im using it since the release.
Had some problems with stock camera app (always crash on opening) on NW7, that's why I switched to renovatio.:good:

Hi, Tecalote, I've been on 6.0 for so long that I'm ready to try your MagicR v.3. Since I'm still on 6.0 and your Renovatio v1, is it possible for you to give some detailed installation instructions? My original build before installing your Renovatio is Model: EVA-L19C185B220. Thank you very much! I've been using your rom ever since I bought my P9 and it's been great. I look forward to trying this new rom of yours.
I wrote for you a small Guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75106516&postcount=281

Let me know how it does :)

Greatly appreciate it! I'll be on it later today and report back. !!
Thank you for taking the time and help!!

p.s. : any chance to downgrade back to MM if something goes wrong?
Yes, you can downgrade with Transition Pack, if you need to do it, I tell you how.

Note: if you are on Android 7 and install my Rom, please read #1 from MRv3 Thread - cause you must flash after installing my Android 7 Rom before Reboot the data-files_patch for your device/cust
